A large French gilt metal and amber, amethyst and clear glass mounted four branch candelabrum, late 19th century and adapted, hung with clustered and faceted pendants to the scrolling acanthus cast arms, approximately 65cm high; a companion pair of moulded clear and amethyst glass and gilt metal mounted three branch candelabra, late 19th century, each hung with faceted drops and pendants shaped as stars and flowerheads respectively, the tallest 54cm high; and a similar, smaller candelabrum (4)Condition Report: Metalware a little bent in places, and the gilding quite rubbed.Some pendants knocked/scratched, others may be missing or replaced but the present arrangement is pleasing and symmetrical.Each externally wired for electricity, though this hasn't been tested. 19th century gilt metal table garniture, comprising three branch candelabra and pair of spill vases with trumpet form opaline glass vessels, each with swan and leaf ornament, height of candelabra 46cm, the separate elements possibly associatedProvenance: Estate of the Late Jane SumnerCondition report: Both glasses are very grubby and would benefit from a good clean, one glass has a couple of small chips to the bottom (not visible when in the holders). The holders have some overall wear to gilded decoration but are in good order overall. Candelabrum branches feel loose. There is a hole in the base and several other small holes, indicating it possibly once had a lamp fitting attached to it (see additional photographs). There is also overall wear to the gilding and the Swans don't seem to be as clearly silvered as they do on the vases.
After Milo, Miguel Fernando Lopez, Portuguese, contemporary, a bronze and gilt figure of a lady holding a candelabra, on a marble pedestal base, 258cm high overallCondition report: Overall this is well made and appears to be complete, with only light surface marks. The candelabra lifts off and the figure unscrews from the marble base, but does require two strong people to carry each piece as it is very heavy. The marble base is in three sections also. This was collected from a local house move in Suffolk along with thirteen others, which are being sold in subsequent auctions. Marble base is 60cm high. The figure is 130cm high from the feet to the top of the arms and the sconces 87cm high overall. It is a pair to lot 277 in the same auction.
