Description: An impressive and large late 19th century French Louis XVI style clock garniture by Susse Frères The clock in the form of Cupid holding a timer with floral festoons, the 5 inch enamel dial with Roman numeral and Arabic seconds signed Susse Frères, Paris, the circular movement with Brocot type suspension to the anchor escapement and rack strike on a bell, punched in an oval 'Susse Frères, Paris, 262'; on a an oval plinth base, on turned feet, the case also stamped Susse Frères, the accompanying six-light candelabra in the form of urns after Clodion, with bacchanalian scenes, on square plinth bases applied with festoons, on bracket feet, both urns stamped Susse Frères, the clock 38cm wide, 19cm deep, 61cm high, the urns each 76cm high. The Susse Frères foundry was renowned for the quality of its casting and multipatinated finishes, they exhibited with notable success at many of the great exhibitions of the nineteenth century including a prize medal at the 1851 Great Exhibition in London and a Grand Prix at the 1905 Lieges Exposition Universelle. A Pair of George VI Silver Three-Light Candelabra, by Richard Comyns, London, 1937 in the George III style, each on oval filled base and with baluster stem, the detachable branches with two reeded scrolling arms, each terminating in tapering socket with detachable nozzle, with a similar central socket, the bases engraved with a Latin inscription38cm high, weighable silver 41oz 15dwt, 1,299gr (2)The inscription read 'Dilectissimo magistro Carolo Henrico Thompson discipuli veteres et recentes gratissimum animis D.D'.Each fully marked on base and further part marked on branches and nozzles. The marks are clear. There is some minor surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some minor bruising to the branches. The bases are filled and weigh 1,385gr including the filling material.

Ltd., London, 1972 in the George I style, the cast base octagonal and with tapering stem, the detachable branches with four scrolling arms, each with faceted socket and conforming wax-pan, the further central socket with detachable finial38cm high, 54oz 5dwt, 1,687grFully marked under base. Further part marked on candle arms, wax pans and detachable finial. The marks are generally clear. The base further stamped with maker's name. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a bruise to the base which cases the stick to lean somewhat and some further bruising to the arms.
