THE THING (1982) - Hand-Drawn Michael G. Ploog MacReady Storyboard - A MacReady storyboard hand-drawn by production illustrator Michael G. Ploog for the production of John Carpenter's The Thing. Pilot RJ MacReady (Kurt Russell) kept his signature bottle of J&B Scotch whiskey close at hand throughout the film, ultimately sharing it in his final moments of life with Childs (Keith David).Rendered in graphite and signed by Ploog on drawing paper with a printed black border, this storyboard of MacReady swigging whiskey and annotated "The noises are louder - The [sic] a bang on the door" originated directly from Ploog. It exhibits discoloration and three punched holes.
