A Fife Engineering Company electric double monkey automaton, circa 1947, bearing Fenco House manuacturers plaque, made for 'Peter Pan Scotch oats', modelled as two monkeys dressing in pyjamas before a dining table and cups and saucers, on rectangular electrified base (some damages and losses) approx. 49 cm high Condition Report: Unable to test. Some tears to the clothing and figures. Would benefit from a clean. Parts of the bodies are not fully secure. Some chips and breakages to the utensils. Wear and tear consistent with age and usage,
A 19th century mahogany Scotch-style chest; the slightly overhanging top with cushion moulded edge above one slim full-width drawer and two half-width and three further full-width graduated drawers, raised on high turned legs (top with splits) (126cm wide x 49cm deep x 127cm high)Condition Report: There are a few faults - two or three vertical splits to the veneer on the left-hand side for the full height. On the right-hand side there is a separation of the veneers and also a 20cm split. Towards the top there is an 10cm thin, triangular section of veneer which has been replaced. The top has a significant veneer split from side to side along the top. There are scratches and scuffs commensurate with age. At the front the two lower drawers and the third full-width drawer have all had polish away. Some of the drawers are a little 'sticky'. The carcass appears to be in generally sturdy condition although as previously explained there are splits. Overall this piece would benefit from some professional restoration.
An unusual Doulton stoneware A. Loffet & Co. Scotch whisky flagon and a Doulton stoneware gin flagonThe gin flagon has a repair to the handle at the base and slight roughness to the base commensurate with age and use. The whisky flagon had cracking to the cork stopper near the handle. Slight fading tot he painted decoration and chipping to the base of the handle - please see images.
