A most appealing silver cased key-wound gentleman's pocket watch having engine-turning to the case back and to the face with contrasting trailing flowering stems in gold, the chapter ring with Roman numerals, the hands being blued. The silver case numbered 4382 has a Chester hallmark for 1875, the maker's mark being F.F.S. for Frederick Francis Sealand of the Waltham Watch Company. The movement numbered 875965 is engraved "Patent Pinion, Amer'n Watch Co., Riverside, Waltham, Mass" and was running satisfactorily at the time of lotting. This handsome 1 5/8" diameter watch is sold with the associated hallmarked silver graduated link chain 14" long, the winding key and a Navy blue protective draw-string bag.
Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway nickel cased pocket watch with a American Waltham Watch Co 15 Jewel movement No 9570906 which dates this watch to 1900, top wound and top set. The dial is enamelled Fattorini & Sons Ltd Bradford 9570906 and is free from cracks and chips. The rear of the case is hand engraved L&Y in the earlier style. In good working condition.
