HENRY MATTHEWS; a Victorian hallmarked silver pocket watch stand with repoussé foliate scroll decoration, London 1900, width 7cm (af), also a 20th century Waltham open face crown wind pocket watch in chromed case, the dial set with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, diameter 4cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Silver front of pocket watch case has some holes and general further wear, the backing has deteriorated extensively and is now in several parts including the stand, the watch generally ok with some wear to the chromed case, is running at point of cataloguing but this is not a guarantee as to working order.
WALTHAM; an early 20th century gold crown wind half hunter pocket watch, the circular dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds hand, the case interior stamped "Moon" and numbered 1044493 (lacking glass), dial diameter 4.2cm, also to include two mid 20th century pocket watches comprising Ingersol "Triumph" and a Smith's example (3). CONDITION REPORT: Wear to the cases of all three watches, particularly to Waltham, Waltham lacking glass as stated and front section of case is slightly loose, some dirt to the dial, also dirt to Ingersol dial, only Smith's watch is working at point of cataloguing
London Chatham and Dover Railway Guards Watch No 129. In a hall-marked silver case with Birmingham marks for 1884. Brass movement with key wind and key set marked AM. WATCH CO. Martyr Sq. WALTHAM. MASS. and stamped with movement number 2426072 which dates also to 1884. Plain enamelled dial, rear of case is hand engraved L.C.D.R. 129. In excellent working condition complete with key, a rare railway watch.
