A late 19th Century 'The Waverley Type Writer', maker Higgins & Jenkins, with vertical type bars behind platen for visible writing, ribbon ink, QWERTY keys with upper and lower case shift bars, proportional spacing and three pronged paper carriage, on a black lacquered base with remains of gold lettering and border, maker's title to right hand side of frame as per title, 30 x 26.6 x 27.5cm..*Notes- The Waverley Typewriter was one of the first typewriters to allow visible typing compared to many others that required lifting of the carriage to inspect the work.
