Large Impressive Antique Thai/Burmese Giltwood Carved High Relief Temple Mirror. Intricately carved with figures, birds, dragons, and scroll relief. A Thai gilt metal standing Buddha, 20th century, standing in Abhaya Mudra, standing on a flowering lotus upon three stepped tiers, all with leaf moulded decoration, height 101.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The finial to the headdress is removable and has a slight bend to the tip of which the decorative gilding is missing. There are small sections where the gilding is rubbed, particularly beneath the left eye, the right hand, small patches on the cape and on the stepped plinth. Decorations to the front of the figure are inlaid with small glass roundels. There is a small patch of gilding missing to the rear of the cape. There is a small section to the base of the platform that has been poorly cast and is now missing but this does not affect the stability of it in any form. The right hand side of the base has small cracks but we believe these to have been produced when made. It is given as 20th Century, it is most likely to be mid 20th Century as opposed to early.
A Thai cast bronze head of Buddha, 19th/20th century, wearing a floral headdress, mounted upon a square wood plinth, overall height 36 cm, the bust 25.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are traces of verdigris throughout. There is a small pinhead size dimple below the left eye. There are two small pinhead size holes to the rear of the head approx 5 cm apart from each other. There is no evidence of any deep or light surface scratches. Please look closely at the web images which may satisfy any doubts.
