Alexander/Cowles 36. Unframed. Sheet - 32" H x 25 1/2" W. Provenance: the estate of Raeanne Rubenstein, Nashville, Tennessee. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School of Communication, Ms. Rubenstein was a professional photographer specializing in images of celebrities ranging from John Lennon, Janis Joplin and Andy Warhol to Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. Her work appeared in Rolling Stone, Life, People, and most recently the Ken Burns documentary, Country Music. CONDITION: Overall very good condition.

Includes two (2) signed serigraph cels on offset lithographed backgrounds signed by Disney animators Marc Davis, Ollie Johnston, and Frank Thomas: the first depicting Snow White with 3 Dwarves in the forest and the other depicting all Seven Dwarves; one (1) Marc Davis signed serigraph cel on offset lithographed background of Snow White and the Prince at the Well; one (1) panoramic Disney Sericel titled "Time to Wash Up" depicting all seven dwarves, on offset lithographed background, with Disney COA affixed en verso (1996, ed. of 5,000); one (1) Don "Ducky" Williams offset lithograph "Snow White by Starlight" souvenir from Disney Cruise Line, c. 2005; one (1) autograph of Snow White voice actress Adriana Caselotti on promotional photograph with handwritten inscription "With a smile and a song"; one (1) Ron Davis serigraph of Snow White sitting with deer and chipmunks, Disney Treasures COA en verso. All matted and framed. Framed sizes range from 11" H x 11" W to 15 1/2" H x 34 1/2" W ("Time to Wash Up") and 21" H x 25" W (cruise print). Provenance: Private Williamson County, TN Collection. CONDITION: Caselotti autograph very faded. Plastic coating to frame on panoramic sericel of the dwarves is separating from the wood underneath. Some minor wear and tears to backing papers and frames on other pieces. All cels and lithographs in excellent condition.
Jean-Pierre Vasarely (Yvaral) (French, 1934 - 2002) Op-Art Serigraph. Titled "Sphere". He is the son of Victor Vasarely. Pencil signed lower right. Numbered (76/225) lower left. Yvaral studied graphic art and publicity at the ?cole des Arts Appliqu?s in Paris between 1950 and 1953. In 1960, Yvaral co-founded the Groupe de Recherche d?Art Visual (GRAV) with Julio Le Parc, Fran?ois Morellet, Francisco Sobrino, Horacio Garcia Rossi and Joel Stein, seeking to develop a coherent abstract visual language composed of simple geometric elements. In 1975 he coined the phrase 'Numerical Art' to describe artwork composed (or programmed) according to numerical rules or algorithms. From this time onwards he used computers to digitally process and manipulate images, although the final images were always hand painted. He used this technique to produce several series of portraits starting from instantly recognizable images, such as the face of Marilyn Monroe, and processing them to the point where they become abstract compositions, while the original image remains recognizable. Jean-Pierre Vasarely (Yvaral) (French, 1934 - 2002) Op-Art Serigraph. Titled "Pyramid". He is the son of Victor Vasarely. Pencil signed lower right. Numbered (4/25) H.C. H.C. stands for hors commerce, or "not to sell." Often the H.C. impressions were used as exhibition copies, so that the works being sold were not over-handled or damaged. Sometimes these impressions differed from the editioned prints by being printed on different paper or inked differently. Yvaral studied graphic art and publicity at the ?cole des Arts Appliqu's in Paris between 1950 and 1953. Ernest Tino Trova (American, 1927-2009) "Falling Man: Six Prints" 1968 Serigraph. Pencil signed, numbered (16/150) and dated ('68) lower right. Known for his Falling Man series in abstract figural sculpture, he created hard-edge images that brought him widespread attention because they seem to strike a chord of empathy with viewers who recognized themselves as human beings challenged by a technological society. Also, they are the only creatures aware of their mortality. He is considered highly innovative because of his successful combining of technological methods to create his art.
