WEST BROM - NEWTON HEATH 1901-02 Issue of Sport and Play dated March 8th 1902, the official programme for Aston Villa, West Brom, Wolves and Birmingham with the official list of players and positions inside the cover. 16 page issue with teams listed for West Bromwich Albion v Newton Heath ( soon to be renamed Manchester United), Wolves v Liverpool, Small Heath ( Birmingham) v Blackburn and Villa Reserves v Stafford Rangers. Contains editorial and fixture lists, results etc for all four clubs and this was the programme sold outside all four clubs grounds on matchday. Ex bound volume, minor flaking to edge. Complete with covers and also lists the teams for 2 Northern League games, Stockton v Grangetown and Willington v Leadgate Park. Some minor flaking to edges of cover, no writing and includes team pictures of the England and Ireland teams who had played an International game at Middlesbrough the previous Saturday plus caricatures of 5 Manchester United players, Anderson, Beale and Stacey, Wall and Meredith. STRANRAER - GATESHEAD 60 Stranraer home programme v Gateshead, 13/8/60, noted as a challenge match as at the time Gateshead had failed to gain re-election to the Fourth Division of the Football League and had been replaced by Peterborough. Consequently Gateshead tried to be elected to the Scottish League and in a goodwill attempt to win votes they played a series of friendlies against Scottish clubs. Their efforts failed and they eventually joined the North Regional League. Generally good

DARWEN - BARROW 1921 Darwen home programme v Barrow, 16/4/1921, Lancashire Combination, Barrow were Champions in this their final season as a Non-League Club as they joined the newly formed Third Division North the following season. Darwen had previously been a member of the Football League between 1891 and 1899. Barrow only played two more games in the Combination after this game and they were already Champions. Barrow won 1-0. Pencil score, scorer noted. Four page programme, slight marks. Fair-Generally good
