Ephemera – Poster – the Leipzig Trade Fair 1939 rare poster produced by W J Stoddart of Edinburgh^ advertising the Leipzig Trade Fair of 1939^ with graphic showing the exhibition buildings and offering travel concessions. The Fair was set to run from August 27th -31st^ but as we were at war just four days after the end of the fair^ it is unlikely that many took up the offer of travel ! Approx 100x61cm^ slight weakness in original folds but otherwise good

WWI – Recruiting Poster Step into Your Place – colour poster issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee (No 104). An iconic image showing a group of civilians from all walks of life marching in line and gradually merging members of a platoon of soldiers. Approx 75x50 cm^ one small area of slight staining^ close tears to right hand and top edges^ not affecting text^ small portion removed from bottom edge slightly cutting into border but otherwise in remarkably good condition. Original recruiting posters from WWI are now becoming scarce on the market^ this is a particularly fine and iconic image.
WWII – Anti-Semitic literature Anti-Semitic poster issued by Julius Streicher`s propaganda newspaper^ ""Der Sturmer""^ 9"" x 12 1/2""^ Nuremberg [n.d.]. The broadside advertises the paper and bears a depiction of a stern S.A. soldier^ an eagle clutching a snake which bears Stars of David^ and marching troops with Nazi banners beneath. The text reads^ in part: ""... The S.A. and Der Sturmer march and fight together...Our goal is what the Fuhrer wants...Free us from the Jew and his servants...Der Sturmer...gives you the necessary education to fight shoulder to shoulder with our Fuhrer against the Jew...Read Der Sturmer every week...Without a solution to the Jewish question^ there will be no saving of humanity..."". Small repair to bottom right hand corner otherwise excellent condition.
