19th Century printed poster advertising Captain Boyton's visit to Clevedon Pier on Thursday August 12, 1875, 90cm x 57cm together with a related printed flysheet illustrating Captain Boyton, 38cm x 27cm - on front of catalogue cover. The visit to Clevedon Pier in 1875 by Captain Boyton of 'The New Jersey Life Saving Service' was arranged to demonstrate the inflatable India rubber life rpeserving suit designed by Clark S Merriman that Boyton had worn to successfully complete a crossing of the English Channel in the Spring of 1875. To aid the crossing a 2 feet square canvas was attached to his left boot as a sail. Boyton was sustained on his trip by a special diet of beaten eggs, cherry brandy and a cigar

Paul McCartney - original artwork for "Venus & Mars" Poster A (4 pieces). Double photographic picture acetate for the above poster, size 32 inches x 24 inches. Consists of 4 sheets of photographic picture acetate, 2 of which are the photographic pictures for "Venus & Mars" album poster that came with the "Venus & Mars" album released in 1975. Paul & Linda are wearing top hats, accompanied by a Tuxedo band. Left hand corner has printed job number 14277. Customer job and name Capitol Records, Paul McCartney dated 4/29/75. The poster contains some hand written details relating to the poster. The photographic pictures are rolled/wrapped in the original outer sheet of printer's paper and comes in the original outer tube. Very good/excellent condition. These picture acetates would have been the master copy used by the printer who would have produced the poster.
