Zulu Knobkerrie c.1870, a particularly fine and scarce example, 66cms long, off-set ball head, having hollowed out oval section on top and bottom of the head, and an iron ring just below the head. Very attractive wood grain to the head, and excellent colour all over. Very good condition. The scooped out sections were for the sniffing of snuff, it is said that drugs were given to Zulu warriors before they went into battle

Large wide split to head with two further smaller splits leading off it. Grain splits to haft. Lovely patina.
