19th century gold and topaz/citrine poison ring with intaglio bezel, the foil-backed intaglio depicting a classical male bust, collet set to a hinged gold bezel concealing a secret poison compartment, with engraved shoulders on tapered shank, finger size approximately L/M.The ring is in very good condition and the hinged mechanism works well. The stone/intaglio has not been tested and is possibly a topaz or citrine. The oval gold bezel measures approximately 18mm x 17mm. Not hallmarked and appears to be rose gold, probably 9ct or higher. Weighs approximately 7.38 grams.
