Size 85x110x14mm; A plated case, the lid with small applied German eagle in roundel, scratch marked inside `Taken from Zepp L85 Salonika 5/5/16`. Size 145x85x10mm. Plus a soldered brass example with hinged opening flap to top with a simple engraved stylised picture of a cartoon style airship with `Modern Prophecy` to top. GC minor wear.

Gilt RAF eagle to lid with (L.70.6-8-18) engraved on the top left corner and script initials (GAF) lower right, the interior partly gilt with compartments for cigarettes (right) and powder compact with mirror (left). The lid engraved with a map of Europe, Africa, the Atlantic and America showing the route of the Zeppelin from Berlin to Rio De Janeiro, with connecting aeroplane flights at both ends, the principal cites picked out with tiny coloured stones and named, 3 Reich eagle, globe and Zeppelin device top right. Size 90x90x18mm minor wear illustrated on Plate 21.
