An original pull-apart Winchester Model 1897 shotgun prop and canvas fold-out ammunitions bag as seen used by Brendan Fraser as "Rick O'Connell" in The Mummy (Universal Pictures, 1999). This prop firearm is composed of resin that has been hand-painted to simulate wood grain and metal finish. A threaded portion is present at the barrel of the shotgun that allows the prop to separate into two pieces during filming. The original fold-out ammunitions bag is composed of a combination of canvas, leather and metal components. Leather pockets are present throughout. These types of props would have been utilized by Rick O'Connell during the scene of the film where his character is seen assembling his pump shotgun while on the riverboat Sudan, after unrolling the canvas bag containing weapons. O'Connell can be seen cleaning this type of prop shotgun while he converses with Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz). According to a costume designer from the production of the film, only two canvas bags were produced for the film, this one is believed to have been used during the river scene and through the remainder of the film. O'Connell can be seen carrying a fold-out ammunition bag while walking in the desert, and while in Hamunaptra. Includes a DVD of the film. 39.25 x 6.5 inches

The rifle magazines are hand-painted green.Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Icons of Pop Culture. Each: 7.5 x 3.5 x 3 inches
1st century A.D. Comprising three lentoid-section glandes. Cf. Marchant, D.J., Roman weaponry in the province of Britain from the second century to the fifth century AD, Durham, 1991, fig.26, for similar. 167 grams total, 50-65 mm (2 - 2 1/2 in.). Ex Simmons Gallery, London E11, UK, in the 1990s. From a North London collection. The trio finds parallels with examples unearthed at Ham Hill, Somerset, UK. The sling (funda) with its lead missiles (plumbea pondera) was used by special funditores, illustrated on Trajan’s Column where they are simply dressed in broad tunics with no armour, but carry a shield. Their cloak, or sagulum acted as an ammunition bag. The effectiveness of the slingers was unquestionable and much appreciated, especially against elephants. Celsus, writing towards the end of the 2nd century A.D., described how a slingshot wound was more dangerous and harder to treat than one inflicted by an arrow. [3, No Reserve]

WW2 and Great War ACM Ivelaw Chapman signed Handley Page Hinaidi cover flown by VC10. Air Chief Marshal Sir Ronald Ivelaw-Chapman, GCB, KBE, DFC, AFC (17 January 1899 - 28 April 1978) was a senior commander in the Royal Air Force in the middle of the 20th century and the penultimate RAF commander-in-chief of the Indian Air Force. He joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1917 and served as a Bristol Fighter pilot on the western front with 10 Squadron in the last eleven months of the war. At the outbreak of the Second World War Ivelaw-Chapman, now a wing commander, was part of the operations staff of RAF Bomber Command headquarters.[2] In June 1940 he was promoted to group captain and was appointed station commander at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, a No. 4 Group bomber station near York. In 1941 he returned to a staff job at the Air Ministry involved in D-Day planning. In 1943 he was again appointed a station commander at RAF Elsham Wolds, a No. 1 Group bomber station. On the night of the 6/7 May 1944, Ivelaw-Chapman was flying as second pilot of a No. 576 Squadron Avro Lancaster on a mission to bomb an ammunition dump at Aubigne in France. His aircraft was shot down by a night fighter and Ivelaw-Chapman went on the run. Because of his experience and knowledge Churchill ordered the French resistance to do all they could to help him return to England, he was to be killed if he was in danger of being captured by the Germans. He was captured by the Gestapo on 8 June 1944, the most senior Bomber Command officer to have been captured by the Germans. Churchill's fear was unfounded as the Germans did not realise his importance and he was treated as an ordinary prisoner of war. Good condition. All autographs are genuine hand signed and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. We combine postage on multiple winning lots and can ship worldwide. UK postage from £5.99, EU from £7.99, Rest of World from £10
A Webley & Scott Limited 12-bore side by side boxlock ejector shotgun, Ser. No. 91077, 28" barrels, LoP c.15" which includes current inch-and-a-half extension block, in a velvet lined canvas case with label for P. Orr & Sons, Gunsmiths, Licensed Dealers in Arms & Ammunition, 42 Sule Pagoda Road, RANGOON. NB. A Current Valid shotgun certificate is required to view and bid on this lot. Previous owner note: I believe the gun was manufactured between 1914-1918, the Webley serial number is from this manufacturing period according to Webley's records, and I understand it was made for a Captain C.F.Clarke stationed with the British Army in Rangoon. The interior of the gun case is in its original condition with the original cleaning kit, wooden rods etc. The label on the inside of the case lid has the details of Captain Clarke. I had the outside of the case re-upholstered because of its very poor condition. The gun was serviced and re-proofed by Ancaster Guns in the late 80's and I have used it only on a few occasions since then as a game gun.

Twenty five original rounds of .577 Snider ammunition. LICENCE REQUIRED Twenty five original rounds of .577 Snider ammunition.UK FIREARMS LICENCE WITH CORRECT AMMUNITION ALLOWANCE OR RFD REQUIRED.This ammunition is accompanied by a photocopy of a handwritten letter from a previous owner detailing the history of the ammunition and ownership by Mr Reuben Reeds of Omemee Ontario. Reeds enlisted as a volunteer in the Royal Canadian Regiment in 1899 and served in South Africa as part of the Boer War. Following the end of hostilities, the Canadian volunteers were allowed to keep their Sniders and what remaining ammunition they had as by this time they were well beyond obsolete. The letter details how Reuben Reeds, of farming background, could not bring himself to shoot at the Dutch farmers and consequently brought a large amount of his allocated ammunition home. He also quite rightly feared using a single-shot black powder cartridge arm against the repeating clip-fed Mausers carried by the Boers. Please see Reuben's Snider rifle, ammunition chest and other original packets of ammunition also included in this sale.

The Action works correctly, the bolt face has some wear to it and some light surface dents around the primer area. The bolt has a different serial number to the rifle. The wood stock has lots of dents, scratches and marks, but no repairs or splits, there is a chip to the wood around the cleaning rod channel edge. The butt is a different colour and patina to the rest of the wood indicating it has been refinished or replaced.
