A scarce de-activated MG 13 7.92 calibre machine gun, by Simson of Suhl, the barrel in a vented sleeve fitted with a folding bi-pod, collapsible shoulder stock and adjustable sights, numerous markings including waffenampt stamps, serial number C-159, offered complete with detachable box magazine, four further magazines in a webbing pouch, blank firing adaptor in screw top case, and a belt of inert ammunition; can be stripped and dry fired,with COD.The MG13 was officially in service between 1930 and 1934, though many saw service in WWII as an auxiliary weapon, and as the tail gun for the Junkers Stuka dive bomber.

The manuscript document is addressed to Baron Strathcona and Mount Royal and Sir Frederick Darley and appoints them to be members of the South African War Commission of Inquiry alongside the Earl of Elgin and Kincardine and Viscount Esher, who had been previously appointed, `to inquire into the military preparations for the War in South Africa, and into the supply of men, ammunition, equipment and transport by sea and land in connection with the campaign, and into the military operations up to the occupation of Pretoria.` Countersigned at the conclusion by Aretas Akers-Douglas (1851-1926) 1st Viscount Chilston. British Statesman, Home Secretary 1902-05. With two blind embossed seals. VG.

India and the Punjab A rare cast miniature model of the famous Sikh Cannon Zamzama Inscription reads – ‘MINIATURE MODEL OF ZAMZAMA CAST AT LAHORE FOR KING AHMAD SHAH DURRANI IN 1757 AD IN COMMISSION TILL 1870 AD’ Length 23cm. Known as the BHANGIAN DI TOPH or the gun belonging to the Bhangi Misl, known as Zamzama, is a massive, heavyweight gun, an 80 pounder, 14 feet, 4 1/2 inches in length, with a bore aperture of 9 1/2 inches, cast in Lahore in copper and brass by Shah Nazir at the orders of Shah Wali Khan, the wazir of Ahmad Shah Durrani. It is perhaps the largest specimen of Indian cannon casting, and is celebrated in Sikh historical annals more as a marvel of ordnance than for its efficiency in the battlefield. In 1762, Hari Singh went into battle with Khawaja Ubed. Bhangi attacked the then-village of Khawaja Said two miles from Lahore (now part of the city of Lahore), where the Mughal governor Khawaja Ubed had his arsenal, and seized his artillery, arms and ammunition. Amongst the guns captured was the Zamzama Gun itself. It was renamed by its Sikh captors Bhangi Toap. In 1802, Maharajah Ranjit Singh, after defeating the Bhangis, captured the famed gun. He used it in the battles of Daska, Kasur, Sujanpur, Wazirabad and Multan. In the siege of Multan, the gun was badly damaged.

The reverse of the buckle retains much of its original field-grey paint finish, the stitched brown leather tab bearing impressed maker`s mark `B.Haarmann - Ludenscheid - 1937`, `1/Sch.R. 1. I.`, (5).
A Great War Casualty Pair to Gunner J.J. Moulding of the Canadian Field Artillery, British War and Victory Medals (476635 GNR.J.J.Moulding.C.F.A.). London Rifle Brigade - A Lapel Badge. Gunner J.J. Moulding of the Canadian Field Artillery, 1st Division Ammunition Col. fell on the 19th July 1918. He is remembered with honour at the Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France. Before March, 1916, Aubigny was in the area of the French Tenth Army, and 327 French soldiers were buried in the Extension to the West of what is now Plot IV. From March 1916 to the Armistice, Aubigny was held by Commonwealth troops and burials were made in the Extension until September 1918. The 42nd Casualty Clearing Station buried in it during the whole period, the 30th in 1916 and 1917, the 24th and 1st Canadian in 1917 (during the capture of Vimy Ridge by the Canadian Corps) and the 57th in 1918.
