Half-Plate Mahogany and Brass Cameras: Houghton Sanderson camera with dovetail joints, serial no. 23677 (approx. 1915), later International back and tripod base, with Kodak Ektar f/7.7 203mm, in later Prontor shutter, two spare lens boards one with Aldis-Butcher f/4.5 5.5in lens in Compur shutter and triple-extension camera, labelled `London Stereoscopic Company` but made for them by Thornton-Pickard, with Thornton Pickard roller-blind shutter, heavily damaged and Goerz Dopp-Anastigmat serie IB f/4.8 180mm lens (a lot)
A Wood and Brass 12in x 10in Field Camera, no maker`s name visible, comb-jointed with black bellows (G-VG), with Clement and Gilmer f/8 lens with rim-operated iris (VG) Camera well preserved, signs of light use - apart from some scoring around the tripod areas the wood is in above-average condition. Brasswork a little dulled but clean, and complete apart from one of the two knobs that control front rise. Bellows in good shape, leather strap present. Lens optically and cosmetically excellent, rarely seen in such a bright and smart condition.
A Leica IIIb serial no. 317202, with English base markings and Summitar f/2 50mm lens, serial no. 737160, orange filter, erc, body F/P, lens F/G, shutter fires but slow speeds erratic Body has signs of heavy use, with top plate and winding knob marked and scratched. Slow speed dial de-chromed. Base plate with nick, bright marks, and rings round tripod socket. Shutter performance erratic - slow speeds will sometimes engage, sometimes on the `Z` mark, but often do not, and time exposures do not work. Shutter blinds, viewfinder and rangefinder OK. Lens barrel quite good, with no serious impact damage, but there is a number of minor scratches and marks. Lens elements are good. Iris working but a little stiff, focussing action smooth. Orange filter generally good, a few trivial marks only. Case shabby but functional.
A Sanderson Quarter-Plate Mahogany and Brass Field Camera, serial no. 22453 (apx. 1914), with Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar f/4.5 13.5cm lens in Compur rim-set shutter, with plate enabling camera to be fitted to modern tripod, body G-E, lens G, working shutter Comb-joined mahogany body, comb-jointed, a few trivial marks here and there but generally attractive. Brasswork complete and bright. Carry handle present, but broken. Lens appears to be clean with working shutter. Nice camera with no major issues.
A Fallowfield Half-Plate Mahogany and Brass Camera, with maroon bellows, detachable from lens panel by interesting bayonet device derived from early Kinnear cameras, f/8 8in brass lens and one dds, body G, lens G Unusually well preserved and attractive - the usual minor faults do not greatly detract. Bellows in good condition, leather on carry handle and tab lifting front bayonet in good condition, wood attractive with the usual minor marks particularly around tripod ring, brass fittings attractive and figured, lens lacquer in good condition with clear glass, but hood and rear of lens show evidence of impact but hard to see.

A Leica II, black, serial no. 85057, with Elmar f/3.5 50mm lens and erc, body F/P, lens F, shutter working Body has signs of heavy use, with paint loss, scratches and signs of repainting. Base plate slightly indented near tripod socket. Front of slow speed dial brassed. Leatherette complete but worn in places. All working with shutter blinds apparently in good order, good viewfinder, functional rangefinder. Lens barrel mostly OK except for bezel at front which is corrugated. Iris working but stiff, focus smooth. Glass has minor front scratches and dust, but clear. Cas shabby but functional.
A Lancaster Half-Plate Mahogany and Brass Special Instantograph Tailboard Camera, with brass binding, black bellows, Lancaster Patent rubber-band shutter (apparently intact but not tested), J Lancaster and Son`s Patent f/10 8in meniscus lens and one dds, body G, lens G Unusually well preserved and attractive - the usual minor faults do not greatly detract. Bellows supple and intact, wood attractive with usual marks around tripod ring and elsewhere, brass fittings complete with original lacquer, carry handle and plate back intact and working. Lens lacquer attractive and largely complete, working iris with dual (time / f/stop) scales, glass has few minor coating marks and a couple of tiny chips at extreme edge, otherwise clean
A Rolleiflex 2.8D TLR Camera, serial no. 1606997, with Zeiss Planar f/2.8, G, with instructions and erc; and fitted accessory case for Rolleikin, filters, lens hood, tripod, quick release plates etc Camera has signs of light use with a few rub marks on exposed areas. Lens clean without significant faults, possibly some internal debris at extreme edges. Shutter and delayed action work, exact readings not tested.
A Chapman `The British` Quarter-Plate Camera, with maroon bellows, with wheel-stop 4 in Beck Wide Angle Rectilinear lens and double dark slide, body G, lens F Unusually well preserved and attractive - the usual minor faults do not greatly detract. Bellows intact with wear and pinholes to corners. Brass fittings complete and in good condition. Wood has usual tripod marks and minor abrasions, but attractive. Lens has few marks with minor separation at extreme front edge.
A Watson `Tourist` Half-Plate Mahogany and Brass Tailboard Camera, serial no 547 (placing camera well before 1888 when Watson serial numbers were standardised at 6000 upwards), with dovetailed mahogany body, interior slotted at rear for septum allowing conversion to stereo operation, with maroon oblong bellows and Watson 6.5 x 4.75 brass bound lens with slot for Waterhouse stops (missing), leather cap, body E, lens G Exceptionally attractive, and with early Serial Number. Bellows intact and undamaged, wood finish bright and attractive with the usual marks around the tripod sockets and a small repair on the side flap. Lens lens body excellent, unusual retaining clamp by Waterhouse slot, glass clean with minor marks only.
A Houghton Victo Half-Plate Mahogany and Brass Camera, with black bellows, serial no. 23201 with brass `Victo` plate on lens board and Ensign `British Made` ivorine plate on side, with Ensign roller-blind shutter (not tested for accuracy, but apparently working), Ensign f/8 8in Symmetrical lens with leather lens cap, one dds, matching tripod and dark focusing cloth, body E, lens G-E Unusually well preserved and attractive - landmark design that is hard to find with a date as late as this. Bellows supple and intact, wood exceptionally well preserved with very few of the usual marks and abrasions except for a few scuffs inside baseboard. Leather strap intact, maroon leather lens cap. Brasswork bright and clean with attractive figuration on tripod ring. Lens and shutter in fine cosmetic condition, glass good.
A Shew Xit 2 Camera, with black bellows, glass screen 6 x 9cm (approx), viewfinder and spirit level, Shew patent brass sector shutter, f/6 focussing lens, body F/G, lens F, shutter fires but not tested for accuracy Unusually well preserved and attractive - the usual minor faults do not greatly detract. Black bellows intact, supple. Wood retains attractive original finish, a few marks round tripod bush as usual. Shutter and lens in good cosmetic order, but glass has a few minor scratches at rear element, and noticeable separation to the front.
A London Stereoscopic Company `Carlton` Twin-Lens Reflex Camera, with matching London Stereoscopic Black Band 5in x 4in taking lens, magazine with plateholders, F-G, with fitted London Stereo velvet-lined leather case and home-made tripod top Exceptionally complete and unusual example of camera that was introduced in 1894. Camera bears signs of light to moderate use. Some internal rust on the changing mechanism, wear on the carrying handle and trivial marks on leatherette and metalwork do not greatly detract. Lens has internal marks which may clean off if dismantled, and iris needs to be freed up.
A Shew Xit 2b Outfit, with maroon bellows, spirit level and collapsible viewfiender, Unicum shutter with Aldis f/6 No. 2 Anastigmat lens, 3in x 4in glass screen and two dds, in leather case, body G, shutter working (but not tested for accuracy), lens G-VG Unusually well preserved and attractive - the usual minor faults do not greatly detract. Bellows intact, some wear on corners, wood marked around tripod ring and on edges, otherwise retains attractive finish. Lens and shutter in good condition. Viewfinder and level in good order, spirit bubble in order. Maroon lens cap, carrying case marked in places but intact with original lock.
Half-Plate Mahogany and Brass Cameras: Lancaster 1888 Instantograph with Lancaster Patent meniscus lens and see-saw shutter, F-G, and camera with A W Yabsley of Bath maker`s (retailer`s?) plate, F-G, with wide angle Rectilinear half-plate lens also with Yabsley markings, lens body F-G, elements F, three dds, matching tripod and focusing dark cloth Yabsley is not listed in Channing and Dunn`s `British Camera Makers`.

Wood dovetailed, some minor abrasions and marks particularly around tripod base, but most attractive. Bellows have only the most minor wear on corners. Brass fittings intact, attractive, minor deterioration to lacquer only. Lens lacquer missing in places, especially round hood, glass clean.
A Linhof Technikardan Outfit, body serial no. 9951084, G, with Schneider Super Angulon f/8 120mm multicoated lens in Copal shutter, 2mm mark on front element o/w G-VG, matching accessories include Super Rollex 56 x 72mm roll film back, tripod, bellows, viewing hood and Polaroid back Camera and lens show few signs of use. Some of the accessories are less pristine, with the tripod and spare lens board showing signs of heavy use, but good package as a whole
A Leica IIIg serial no. 849932, chrome, body G-VG with working shutter, slow speeds sluggish, and Elmar coated f/2.8 50mm lens no. 1632617, G, with cap and lens hood, and non-matching erc Body has few signs of use. Lens also shows few signs of use, with insignificant internal dust that would not affect picture taking. Case has wrong tripod thread for this body.
A Hasselblad 500C Outfit, body no. TU 73112, F-G, metered prism, P-F, three 120 magazines with dark slides, Zeiss Planar f/2.8 80mm lens, G, useful accessories include filters, lens hood and spirit level Body sound, few marks on chromium edge trim and around tripod bush, lens in good order with working shutter, a tiny scratch on front element being the only downside. Shutter working but probably a touch slow on slow speeds. Magazine shells and inserts appear to match, with numbers corresponding on two earlier ones. Meter works and gives clear view, but has paint loss and chewed-up battery cover. Instructions in Swedish/German. Useful collection of accessories with two 50mm filters, Softar, Proxars, spirit level, body cap.
A Reid III with Taylor-Hobson Lens, body serial no. P1912, F, shutter not working, Taylor-Hobson f/2 2 inch Anastigmat serial no. 330614, barrel VG, elements G, and erc Body has signs of moderate / heavy use with wear and paint loss on exposed surfaces and heavy abrasion around tripod ring. Small indentation near serial number and extensive scratching on winding knob top. On the plus side, leatherette is complete. Shutter requires service, doesn`t really work at all. Lens has clean exterior. Glass has a few cleaning marks and some internal dust, but none of these is serious - lens cap is Leitz not TTH by the way. Case quite smart.
Wood and Brass Field Cameras: tailboard camera by Photo-Vulga Paris, plate size 13 x 18cm, revolving bellows giving landscape or portrait by means of stud-and-keyhole system, F-G, with non-working roller blind shutter and unmarked meniscus lens with screw-in aperture, G; and Houghton Triple Victo half-plate serial no. 11576, P, missing tripod fitments, lens board not original The French camera shows signs of light to moderate use, with no major issue. It has intact but shabby bellows and comes with a simple lens and French-made shutter, which needs repair. Good example of a design popular on the Continent but less so in the UK. Victo is shabby with various faults and missing parts and is a restoration project. It does have reasonably intact bellows, though.
