WYMAN BILL: (1936- ) English Musician, bass guitarist with The Rolling Stones 1962-92. Early A.L.S., Bill Wyman, one page, 8vo, n.p., 3rd January 1964, to Ros. Wyman thanks his correspondent for her letter and apologises for the delay in replying. He further states that he can`t send her any hair (`not yet anyway-I need it all`) and hopes that she will see the band in Newcastle and `hope also that you like our new record which is due for release in 2 or 3 weeks time...` Together with a vintage signed and inscribed 5.5 x 4 photograph showing Wyman in a group pose with The Rolling Stones. Signed (`Love to Ros, Bill`) in black ink to a clear area of the image and bearing facsimile signatures of all five band members to the verso. Small tear to the upper edges of the letter and one pinhole to the upper white border of the photograph, about VG, 2 The record to which Wyman refers was the EP entitled The Rolling Stones, released on 17th January 1964. It reached Number One in the UK EP Charts.

Each of the pages are annotated at the head by the collector and the signatures were obtained in person at a concert in Leeds on 12th July 1964. An autograph album collected by Mr Alan Potter who worked for St John Ambulance at De Montfort Halls in Leicester in the early 1960`s. He was in the dressing room with the Rolling Stones and signed by Jagger, Jones, Watts, Wyman & Richards. It was Mick Jagger who wrote "The Rolling Stones" and circled it, Marianne Faithful was there with Mike Jagger and proffered her signature which was declined by Alan Potter who declined as he did not know who she was! The other autographs in the book are Lulu, Peter and Gordon, The Seekers, Cilla Black, Billie J Kramer, The Everly Brothers, The Honeycombs and various unknown ? artists.

Jagger writes, in full, `Thanks a lot for your letter. Sorry I haven`t time to write very much, must go now.` Accompanied by the original envelope and an original candid 5 x 3.5 photograph of Jagger standing hand in hand at the edge of a Go-Kart track with a young lady, presumably his correspondent. The photograph with very heavy overall creasing (only P) and the letter with some creasing and slight splits at the fold. P to about G, 2
