A small autograph book containing the autographs of the original Rolling Stones band members Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts. These were obtained in October 1966 when The Stones had appeared at the Colston Hall Bristol and were brought to The Ship Hotel, Alveston for an overnight stay before their next concert in Cardiff. The vendor believes that the reason they stayed in Alveston was because they were not welcome in Bristol hotels after they had caused a few problems at The Grand Hotel following a previous concert. The Ship Hotel at that time was part of the Trust House Forte Group and the vendor's mother worked there as a chambermaid. She asked the band for their autographs while they were on the putting green and they reluctantly agreed only after a few expletives.
An autograph book containing signatures collected by the vendor in the 1960's, included are three of the original Beatles: John Lennon, George Harrison and Pete Best (dated 1962) and Brian Jones, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones; other autographs in the book include Phil & Don Everly of the Everly Brothers, The Hollies, The Flintstones, Russ Conway, Ronnie Carroll, Jet Harris of the Shadows, Bruce Forsyth, Shane Fenton (Alvin Stardust) and many more of the era.
AN AUTOGRAPH BOOK, signatures includes footballers of the early 1950's mainly Stoke City & Port Vale players, but also includes Stan Mortensen and several stars of film and variety including Johnny Weismuller, together with the signatures of Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Hank Locklin and Arnold Palmer, A Johnny Cash tour programme, The Rolling Stones 'Tour of The Americas 1975' official programme, Beatles book, a Ferrari brochure and a quantity of Racing Car prints
A scrapbook with various newspaper articles featuring the Dennisons, cuttings of various pop stars, vinyl LPs to include Rolling Stones 'Get Stoned', Genesis 'Duke', The Eagles 'Hotel California' and a 'Ready Steady Go' running order list for a programme featuring Spencer Davis, Yard Birds and also a small 'The Shakespeare Birthday' autograph book.
Fabulous poster, from a private collection- much of which was amassed in the late 1960's in San Francisco (this one is a more recent reprint but is signed by Hamersveld). Jimi Hendrix by John Van Hamersveld (contemporary reprint signed by the artist Hamersveld). John Van Hamersveld portrayed Hendrix like a classical composer in this memorable poster for a Pinnacle concert at the Shrine Auditorium. John is perhaps best known for his “Endless Summer” surfing poster. He also designed the sleeves for the Beatles “Magical Mystery Tour” and the Rolling Stones “Exile on Main Street”.
Fabulous poster, from a private collection amassed mainly in the late 1960's in San Francisco. Magical Mystery Tour by John Van Hamersveld. There are literally thousands of Beatles posters out there, but this is one of a series commissioned by the Beatles themselves, through their company Apple Corps. The film was first screened on British TV, but in the UK the music from it was originally released on two EPs, and only later as an album with added tracks which had been singles. The cover was designed by John Van Hamersveld,* who is perhaps best known for his “Endless Summer” surfing poster, and who did the gatefold sleeve for the Rolling Stones’ album “Exile on Main Street”. *Incidentally, Wikipedia states incorrectly that the sleeve design is by Peter Max
