The song was primarily written by the duo in the corner of a club in Richmond, London, while Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were talking.Released as their second single on 1 November 1963, the Stones's version was the group's first UK top-20 hit, peaking at number 12 on the British chart. The EP was released on 18 January 1964.

A sought-after original US stereo pressing of Introspection by The End, produced by Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman (PS 560, 1969 US stereo pressing on London. Blue/ silver text labels are bright and clean. The record is in Ex condition, displays a couple of wispy/ hairline paper marks. The silver foil sleeve with promo sticker on the rear is strong VG+, displays the usual light storage wear typical to a sleeve with a shiny exterior, bottom right corner has a light crease).
