A GERMAN WW2 3RD REICH D.025 GERMAN CROSS IN GOLD, this particular example is from C.F. Zimmermann Pforzheim and Hastle correct LDO number 20 impressed on the rear pin, this badge has the usually seen four rivet system of fixing the elements of the badge, the history of this badge is that in 1945 a British Serviceman was posted to Belgium to be in charge of section two of a German POW Camp, designated 2228, this camp at Terlanen/Overijse, the badge was given to the Serviceman for his honourable treatment of the German officer, candidates for this award must have previously held the Iron Cross 1st Class, together with photocopy of Serviceman provided by the family
