Anti Flak Helmet. A scarce WWII RAF / USAAF anti flak helmet, hard brown leather skull with chamois lining (worn), with a cut-out for the earpieces and receivers of either a C-type or AAF A-11 flying helmetQTY: (1)NOTE:The only anti flak helmet was used by the RAF was the American "Grow" helmet (USAAF type M-4). These were designed by General Malcolm Grow who was surgeon general to the Eighth Air Force and produced by Wilkinson Sword Company in limited quantity for the Eighth Army Air Force. They were designed to fit over the RAF C-type or AAF A-11 flying helmet.
An assortment of Victorian 19th century silver plated items to include a silver plated large bachelors tea pot attributed to Henry Wilkinson of Sheffield with crossed keys mark to base, bone inlay to handle and berry finial, a twin handled sugar bowl sucriere, a Shaw & Fisher coffee pot and a coffee pot with hazelnut finial. Measures 24cm tall.
THE REGIMENTAL HISTORY OF THE ROYAL IRISH RIFLES (1793-1912) and other personal effects of Captain Hallum, RIR; including his sword and a medal. The British War Medal being his sole entitlement for the Great War. The medal roll notes 'For overseas service (Switzerland to the UK)'. British War Medal. Correctly impressed. Capt O C J Hallum. Condition GVFCaptain Octavius Claude John Hallum was born in Wormingsford, Essex, in April 1860. He served in the Royal Irish Rifles from 1881 until 1899. He retired but was recalled to service during the Boer War, from 1900 to 1902. Hallum saw active service in the Great War, with his rank being Captain and his unit, Royal Irish Rifles. However, he is on the General and Special Duty roll, which states 'For overseas service (Switzerland to the UK)'. Possibly this was in connection with British POWs in Switzerland. Hallum passed away in Switzerland in 1931. The following items are included in the grouping. History of the Royal Irish Rifles by Lt.Col George Brenton Laurie, RIR; Light Infantry' sword and scabbard by Wilkinson of London, the blade inscribed with three of Claude's initials, C H; Black leather case containing his silver napkin ring, which is inscribed with the places he was posted to while serving with the RIR; Leather-cased book of Hallum and Sadler family photos; Pencil portrait in a wooden frame of a Hallum; Heavy leather suitcase with his initials OCJH; Vintage photo of three RI soldiers; Two A4 sheets, one a copy of a marriage certificate with the signature of Claude's wife Ethel.

British 1912 pattern Cavalry Officer's sword by Wilkinson, blade no 48167 for 1915 blade, GVR, 15th Hussars motif and ABS to 89cm decorated blade. ABS being the owner Arthur Smith's initials, who served with the 15th at the Battle of Ypres in 1915, where he was wounded. Scottish Regimental 72nd Highlanders 1828/1931 pattern Highland Infantry officer's broadsword with shagreen hilt and detachable bun pommel by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, serial number 23061. The 82cm decorated blade with Duke of Albany's 72nd Own Highlanders and inscribed 'Presented to 2nd Lieutenant William Greer, 72nd Highlanders by his former comrades the sergeants of the regiment on his promotion to that rank as a mark of respect, Camp Alikheyl (Alikhil), Afghanistan 30th April 1879', the steel scabbard with ball chape. 2nd Lieutenant Greer received his promotion following an act of gallantry, an extract from the 72nd Highlanders Records of Service reads 'The right wing of the 72nd formed part of the force under General Roberts which marched from Ali Khel on the 12th Dec. for Fort Kuram, and which, in the early morning of the 14th, was attacked by Mangals in the Sapiri defile. In the protracted rear-guard fight which took place on that day, four non-commissioned officers and men of the regiment worthily acquitted themselves, in defending Captain F Goad, Assistant Superintendent of Transport, who was mortally wounded, from his assailants; keeping vast numbers of the enemy at bay till relief arrived.
