Wilkinson and Sons, Birmingham 1868 urn shaped bowl, scroll handles, pull-off cover, on a knopped stem on a raised circular foot, with engraved decoration, and inscribed 'The Mayors Plate' and with two inscriptions, filled base, height 34cm.

A VERY RARE "WHITE RAJ" PRESENTATION SWORD, 82.5cm unfullered blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 12508 for 1862, etched with scrolls, the badge and motto of Sarawak and presentation inscription Joseph Middleton From The Raja For Long and Faithful Service, brass gothic hilt based on the 1827 Naval pattern incorporating the Sarawak badge and motto, wire bound fishskin grip, in its engraved brass mounted leather scabbard. James Middleton accompanied James Brooke on his voyage when he was granted Sarawak by the Sultan of Borneo as a reward for fighting piracy in 1841 and became known as the White Rajah. He was appointed Chief of Police and lived on Sarawak until his death in 1866.

A LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY SWORD STICK, 67cm tapering fullered Wilkinson blade etched with panels of foliage and with maker's name, malacca crook handle and haft with sterling silver collar stamped for James Smith & Sons, later horn ferrule, 92cm long over all. A PAPAL AMBASSADOR'S DRESS SWORD, 79cm clean blade by Wilkinson, decorated with scrolling foliage and flower heads highlighted in gilt on a blued ground, regulation gilt hilt with shell guard, profusely decorated with crossed keys and scrolling foliage, mitre form pommel, mother-o'-pearl grips, contained in its gilt brass mounted leather scabbard. Shares many of the characteristics of the Papal States Guards, Officer's and Orders swords.

A CLEAN RASC OFFICER'S SWORD TO CAPTAIN CHARLES TRACHSEL GLADWELL-MOORE, 86cm bright and sharp blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 53420 for 1914-17, etched with scrolling foliage, regimental title, GVR cypher and crowned Royal Arms, regulation three-bar steel hilt, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its field service scabbard. The attribution to Captain Gladwell-Moore is based on the vendor's purchase of this sword from the estate auction of Sir Patrick Moore.

AN 1854 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD, 84.5cm blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 29589 for 1889, etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher's and owner's initials J.A.T.T. regulation pierced Gothic hilt, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its steel scabbard. The size and weight of the hilt and width of the blade across the spine appear to be larger than usual and has multiple edge nicks.
