The movement signed J Valery A Paris, the 9cm diam white enamel dial with Roman numerals bearing `J Valery A Paris` within a foliate gilt bezel, upon four shaped supports and integral base, inlaid overall with foliate brass and tortoiseshell motifs, surmounted by a scrolling fleur-de-lis pediment, the whole raised on rounded rectangular plinth, 62cm high.

A mid 19c French portico mantel clock, the clock supported by four ebonised barley sugar twist columns with gilt brass bases and capitals. The stepped base and top have rosewood veneers inlaid with boxwood floral designs to their front faces. The 3.5" white enamel dial has Roman numerals and a heavy cast brass decorative surround. The movement countwheel strikes on a bell and has a sunburst pendulum, 17" tall overall.
