A LARGE FRENCH EMPIRE WHITE MARBLE AND GILT METAL PORTICO CLOCK the 5' convex enamel dial signed 'Lechopie *** a Paris', 8-day movement striking on a bell, with Louis XIV gilt sunburst pendulum, 36cm wide 67cm high Quite an impressive piece, good size and quality. It’s a little grubby –would have had a glass dome and stand originally. The gilding is nice and original. The pillars and capitals could do with tightening and straightening – I think all there, just need adjusting, which I haven’t tried to attempt in case I snap a bolt. There are minor chips to the dial around the key holes. Chips to the corners of the marble. The movement looks good, pendulum with suspension spring intact, no signs of damage, but would not say in working order. There is no key. . Further images by request
