A 20 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistol, by Barbar, c 1740, 16" overall, 3 stage barrel 10" with London and maker's proofs (LB for Louis Barbar) and engraved "Barbar", slightly banana shaped rounded brass lock plate and pan, with swan neck cock and unbridled frizzen, walnut fullstock with carving around barrel tang, brass mounts including long spurred buttcap with mask finial, openwork sideplate and baluster ramrod pipes. GC (rather worn overall, minor damage to stock, tail of sideplate missing, lockplate cracked, cock etc pitted, ramrod a good replacement, the replacement mainspring detached but present) (Please see lot 820 for image)
