A 20 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistol, by I. Parr (probably John Parr of Liverpool), c 1770, 13½” overall, barrel 8” with early B’ham proofs and engraved teardrop panel; signed rounded brass lock with swan neck cock and unbridled frizzen, engraved with simple scrolls and dog tooth borders; plain walnut fullstock with simple shell carving around breech tang; brass mounts include domed butt cap, escutcheon, simply engraved trigger guard, engraved openwork sideplate, and with plain wooden ramrod. A scarce Russian 12 bore M1809 flintlock cavalry pistol, 17” overall, barrel 10½” with brass fore sight, the breech with indistinct arsenal marks; the lock marked “Sestrorezk” and dated “1813”; fullstocked with regulation brass mounts, the escutcheon engraved with the cypher of Alexander I (1801-25), and with 5½” belt hook. WO & basically GC (long piece missing from left side of fore end, muzzle band and mainspring replaced, butt cap finial missing) Plate 15
A 16 bore flintlock duelling pistol by Clarke of Dublin, c 1800, 15½” overall, well rebrowned octagonal twist barrel 9¾” with small blade fore sight, and engraved “Clarke-Dublin”; signed lock with swan neck cock, semi rainproof pan, and roller on frizzen spring; dark walnut fullstock with small gold escutcheon, the steel mounts include small domed butt cap and large engraved trigger guard with pineapple finial. GWO & C (the stock and mounts sympathetically refinished, traces of stock fracture below the lock, ramrod replaced). Plate 15
*A DB 12 bore x 2½” top lever hammerless boxlock non ejector sporting gun, by Midland Gun Company number 102042, 46½” overall, barrels 30”, with B’ham nitro proofs, the frame engraved with scrolls and “Midland Gun Go” in banners, with automatic top safety, the walnut butt with chequered fore end and pistol grip. GWO & C (some wear to stock). Shotgun licence required for this lot.
A steel barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol, c 1780, 11½” overall, 2 stage swamped barrel 6”, with London proofs and maker’s initials; banana shaped lock with unbridled frizzen, signed “Walker”; fullstocked with flat sided rounded butt and plain brass mounts. WO & generally GC (worn overall, lock and barrel have been pitted and cleaned, cock and frizzen replaced). Note: the lock and barrel re-used from an earlier pistol, probably about 1740.
A brass barrelled and brass framed flintlock boxlock blunderbuss pistol with spring bayonet, by Walklate, London c 1810, 13” overall, bell mouth barrel 6½” with Tower private proofs; the 6½” spring bayonet beneath the barrel released by a second trigger within the trigger guard; bone tipped ramrod with iron worm on the left of the barrel; the frame engraved with trophies of flags and signed in oval panels; with top safety and plain walnut slab butt. GWO & C (light age wear). Plate 6
A late 18th century 24 bore brass barrelled flintlock travelling pistol, by Bennett, 10” overall, 2 stage barrel 5”, the octagonal breech with London and maker’s proofs and engraved “Bennett. Royal/Exchange London”, brass stepped lock signed in oval panel and with roller on the frizzen spring; walnut fullstock with flat sided butt, the plain brass mounts include trigger guard with acorn finial. GWO & C, with pleasing age patina (ramrod replaced, the cock probably a contemporary replacement). Plate 3
A Belgian 120 bore percussion target or duelling pistol, 15” overall, fine twist sighted rifled octagonal barrel 9” with Liege proof; scroll engraved, stepped bar-in-wood lock and hammer; walnut half stock with panel carved fluted butt and engraved steel mounts comprising butt cap shaped to the fluted butt, and spur trigger guard housing adjustable set trigger. GWO & generally clean condition (a few minor marks).
A 28 bore percussion target or duelling pistol, by Styan, Manchester, 15” overall, octagonal rifled twist barrel 9½”, with platinum line at breech and engraved “Manchester”; converted from flintlock with breech drum; the signed stepped bolted lock engraved with scrolls and sunburst; walnut halfstock with chequered saw handle flared butt, steel trigger guard with pineapple finial, GS mounts including engraved fore end cap and small flat butt cap, barrel wedge plates, and escutcheon, and brass mounted ebony ramrod. GWO & C (barrel worn, some bruising and small patched repairs to stock)
A late 18th century brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss belt pistol, 8½” overall, bell mouth barrel 4½” x 1-1/8” at the muzzle, the octagonal breech engraved “London” and with London proofs; the flat stepped lock signed “Twigg” in script; walnut fullstock with rounded chequered butt, plain brass mounts, 3” steel belt hook, and brass tipped ramrod. GWO & basically GC (lock and belt hook refinished, patched repair to fore end). Plate 3

E 18 ', steel trigger, brass bound steel tapered barrel with sight and stamped ' 1851 ' with other marks, steel lockplate with makers marks, steel cock with chequered pull, steel cap with shroud and steel frizen, Heavily marked.
