An antique gem set pendant, the openwork lozenge-shaped panel of scrolled design, centred with a cluster of oval mixed-cut rubies/pink sapphires and a pink stone in pinched collet and foiled closed-back settings, spaced by similarly set table-cut diamonds, gold mounted, with later brooch fittings, together with a Bohemian garnet cluster locket pendant, (one stone deficient), both pendant lengths 4.3cm (2)First pendant only: It is difficult to test the upper pink stone due to the height of setting, and this stone is likely to be a later replacement. The foil backing to this stone has whiteish discolouration and the stone has chips/nicks and scuffs. The remaining pink stones test as sapphires/rubies and are foil-backed to enhance the colour. These stones contain fracture, fissure and mineral inclusions, such as rutile 'silk'. Some of the fractures/fissures are surface-reaching. These stones have slightly variable colour, with possible discolouration to the foil backing, and all have chips, fractures, scuffs and nicks, commensurate for regular use. The diamonds have a typically greyish, fractured and chipped appearance, with discolouration to the foil backing. The mount has been adapted with later brooch fittings of a different hue and the pendant loop isn't soldered. The mount has considerable wear, with thinning and splits to the edges of the settings and scuffs, nicks and chips throughout. The brooch pin is currently functioning. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approximately 11.2gm.Second pendant approximate gross weight only: 7.3gm (metal standard is untested).

An Edwardian amethyst single stone brooch, the cushion-shaped mixed-cut amethyst collet set within an openwork mount with scrolled border, 9ct gold mounted, hallmarked for Birmingham 1908, together with a red paste cabochon and half pearl cluster brooch, (half pearls untested for origin), brooch lengths 3.35cm and 3.25cm respectively (2)Amethyst brooch: Scuffs, nicks and small chips to amethyst, which contains pale fracture and 'tiger stripe' inclusions, measuring approx. 19.2mm length x 14.4mm width x 9.9mm depth. The mount has general wear and patchy staining, with fine splits to the edges of the collet setting and scattered small holes/splits to the hollow scrolled border and mount, with possible small solder repairs. The back of the mount also has shallow dings and dents and the safety clasp is mis-shapen, but the pin is functioning. Hallmarks have patchy wear, maker's mark is '?.A'. Gross weight approx. 7.6gm. Cluster brooch: General wear throughout. Chips and scuffs to paste cabochon, which has a foiled backing, and fractures/chips to some of the half pearls. Pin is functioning. The mount is not marked and metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 9.4gm.

An amethyst and half pearl cluster brooch, the octagonal mixed-cut amethyst in pinched claw setting, bordered by half pearls, yellow precious metal mounted, (half pearls untested for origin), length 2.85cmThe amethyst has a mid-purple hue with faint colour zoning and has surface wear, with nicks/chips, scuffs and scratches. Amethyst dimensions approx. 17.7mm length x 13.6mm width x 9.2mm depth. The half pearls have patchy yellowish/greyish discolouration and surface wear. The brooch mount also has surface wear, scuffs and nicks/chips, with patchy wear to the tips of the pinched claws. The pin is functioning. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 9.5gm.

A 19th century amethyst single stone panel brooch, the oval mixed-cut amethyst in pinched collet setting, framed by foliage and scrolls, gold mounted, with later loop fitting, length 4.2cmSurface wear, scuffs, scratches and nicks/small chips to amethyst, which measures approx. 26.5mm length x 22.5mm width x 13.7mm depth. Lot 10

A Victorian oval shell cameo brooch, carved to depict the profiles of Eos, the Greek goddess of Dawn and Nyx, the Greek goddess of Night, to a ropetwist wirework decorated mount, with later fittings, length 5.55cmFine fracture to cameo running through the left-hand profile, across the nose. Scratches/possible hairline fractures visible to cameo from reverse. Otherwise the cameo has rubbing to high points of the decoration, with occasional nicks and chips, and faint whiteish staining to the ground. There is a small dark mark to the hair of the right-hand profile. The mount has two fine splits near to one edge, visible from the reverse, with general surface wear, chips/nicks and scuffs/scratches, commensurate for age and use. There are occasional small losses to the wirework decoration and some shallow kinks/dings to the border. There is an area of solder at the junction of the pin to the mount and the pin may be later replaced, but is currently functioning. The mount is untested as gold/gilt metal. Cameo dimensions approximately 4.55cm length x 3.8cm width. Approximate gross weight 21.1gm.

A diamond four stone bar brooch, the uniform bar spaced with graduated old-cut diamonds in claw settings, white precious metal mounted, stamped '18CT PLAT', total diamond weight approximately 1.80ct, length 6.3cmDiamonds are well matched, lively and fairly bright, drawing light yellowish tints and containing fracture inclusions, with estimated I to L colour and P1 to P2 clarity. Some of the fractures are surface-reaching and both of the outer diamonds have small chips. One of these diamonds has an irregular outline due to a chip. The largest diamonds weigh approximately 0.60ct each, measuring approximately 5.5mm diameter x 3.4mm depth and 5.6mm diameter x 3.2mm depth respectively. The outer diamonds weigh approximately 0.30ct each. The brooch mount has general surface wear and the pin and clasp are functioning. Metal standard is untested. Gross weight approx. 4.8gm.

The bordering diamonds graduate from approximately 0.12ct to 0.01ct in size. There is a small split to the brooch mount on one side, at the junction with one of the faceted collars. The brooch mount otherwise has general surface wear, scuffs and chips, with dark solder joins/repairs at junctions within the frame. Metal standard is untested and the mount is indistinctly marked. The pin and clasp are functioning. Width of panel 1.6cm. Gross weight approx. 6.5gm.

A pearl and diamond bar brooch, modelled as a shell between two scrolls, set throughout with graduated old and lasque-cut diamonds and centred with a single bouton pearl highlight, two colour precious metal mounted, (pearl untested for natural/cultured origin), total weight of old-cut diamonds approximately 0.70ct, length 4.9cmThe old-cut diamonds have slightly variable colour and clarity but give an overall bright and lively appearance, graduating in size from approximately 0.13ct to 0.01ct each. Some of these diamond have chips and fractures. The lasque-cut diamonds have a typically greyish and fractured appearance but are still fairly lively. The pearl has a silvery-white hue and is off-round, with surface wear and shallow scuffs, measuring approx. 5.7mm to 6.2mm in diameter. The mount has general surface wear, scuffs and nicks/chips, with patchy tarnishing, and some thinning to the edges of the settings. The shell and scroll panels lean to one side and there is solder repair to the mount, at the rivets with the shell. The pin is functioning but appears to be later replaced, with solder at the junction to the bar. Metal standard is untested but the mount is likely to be a gold/silver combination. The pin has previously been filed. Width of shell panel approx. 1.4cm. Gross weight approx. 6gm.

The mount has signs of general wear, scuffs and nicks, with slight thinning to the edges, commensurate for age and use, and patchy tarnishing. The brooch clasp hinges so that it can be folded flat and the pin is functioning, but does not detach from the mount. Metal standard is untested. Width of panel 2.25cm. Gross weight approx. 6.9gm.

A Victorian enamel and gem set memorial brooch, the shaped oval panel centred with an agate cabochon and half pearl cluster, to a black enamel ground with foliate scroll decoration and raised scrolled border, the reverse with inscription dated 1854, monogrammed, gold mounted, (half pearls untested for origin, one later replaced simulated pearl), length 4.8cmOne of the half pearls has been replaced with a simulated pearl which has losses to the finish. The remaining half pearls have surface wear, scuffs and fractures, some having discoloured to greyish hues. The enamel has scuffs, chips and losses. Ltd, with shaped and tapered rectangular body, and lockable faceted stopper, Birmingham 1912, presentation inscription for Colombo Sailing Club, 31.5cm high.In good condition overall. The glass is good overall, just a couple of tiny nicks to the sharp edges near to the base, and some scratches to the underside. The locking pin which would prevent the stopper being removed is missing. Silver has an engraved presentation inscription.
