Being Instructions how to angle for a Trout or Grayling in a clear stream, 1st edition of Part II of The Universal Angler, London: Richard Marriott and Henry Brome, 1676, title with engraved cypher of Walton's and Cotton's entwined initials, woodcut headpieces and initials, lacking A5-8 ("To the Reader") as usual, front free endpaper with name "William Westo[n]" inscribed in pin-holes and dated 1720 (also trimmed & excised to blank fore-edge & upper margin), lacking rear free endpaper, 20th century bookplate of Frederick Locker, contemporary mottled sheep, gilt crest of a stag statant to centre of each board (appears identical to that used by Baptist Noel, 3rd Viscount Campden, 1612-1682), spine gilt in compartments, slim 8vo Wing C6381; Coigney 6; Grolier, Wither to Prior 951; Pforzheimer 1052. A fine late twentieth century Garrard silver cased 'Canopy Clock', limited edition No. 21/150, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Garrard's appointment as Crown Jewellers, having twin fusee movement with platform lever escapement, the rectangular face with silver chapter ring and Roman numerals within pierced silver gilt decoration, inscribed "Garrard, Crown Jewellers 1843-1993" (Garrard & Co. Limited London 1993), height 19.5 cm, housed in original Garrard tooled and gilt leather case with key. CONDITION REPORT: Some very slight tarnishing to silver. Back door loose from its pin and sloping to one side slightly. Movement clean and running. Generally very good.
