HELENA 1902', bearing the South Africa device; a turned wooden napkin ring 'MADE BY P. OF WAR CEYLON 1901'; and a brass 'trench art' napkin ring, formed from an elevation shell gauge and driving band, (4).

An early 20th Century brass cased ship's chronometer by Dent of London, No'd. 7692, the silvered dial with Roman numerals enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial and slow/fast dial, inscribed "The Northern Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co. Newcastle-upon-Tyne", housed in a brass bound mahogany case, bearing ivorine plaque inscribed "The Northern Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Co. 7692-2 days Newcastle-upon-Tyne" (Provenance: from The Edinburgh Castle II - owned by Union Castle, built by Harland and Woolff Belfast and launched in 1910 - the ship went from Cape Town to Southampton - in 1914 used by navy in WWI, 1918 went back to Union Castle - in WWII the ship was bought by the navy for use as an accommodation ship and became known as HMS Edinburgh Castle then went to Freetown South Africa, then at the end of WWII she was scrapped and sunk, all equipment was put into storage by the navy and released later for sale at auction), 18.5 cm wide x 18.5 cm deep x 19 cm high, together with an EPNS pierced napkin ring with enamelled motif inscribed "RMS Edinburgh Castle" and various later printed photographs and ephemera relating to same
