An alloy cylinder head and barrel were adopted for 1951 while a swinging-arm frame and 8'-diameter front brake were fitted from 1954 onwards. Triumphs of the Edward Turner era are among the most stylish of post-war British motorcycles, and the Tiger 100 with its handsome all-alloy engine is one of the most charismatic and sought after of them all. The Classic Motorcycle (August 2021) references Ernie buying a new Tiger 100 from Harvey's, a well-known South London Triumph dealers, and his wife Joan confirms Ernie did buy this machine new (he taught Joan to ride on it). The motorcycle is believed complete but requires restoration/re-assembly and thus is sold strictly as viewed and without documents. Its first exemplar was the C10 sidevalve single with coil ignition and three-speed hand-change gearbox. A de luxe version with foot-change gearbox joined the range in 1939, as did the overhead-valve C11. The original girder front fork was replaced by a telescopic unit in mid 1946, and part way through 1949 the C10 gained an alloy cylinder head. This four-speed, plunger-framed C11G appears to be a relatively complete survivor, albeit missing some parts (silencer and headlamp lens/rim for example). Presented in 'oily rag' condition for re-commissioning or more extensive restoration, the machine is offered without documents and sold strictly as viewed. It should be noted the vehicle registration number '877 UYY' appears on the HPI database however, the machine is offered without documents. It was restored by the previous owner in Wales, the colour being changed from yellow to white (not corrected on the V5C). The restorer first registered the machine in 1978 and is believed he rode it for a few months before selling it to the late owner in May 1980 (receipt on file). The late owner never rode the Harley, and for many years it sat in the front room until a house move 20 years ago saw it dismantled and stored. The vendor recently collected the Harley-Davidson and reassembled the bike, taking lots of photographs, but did not attempt to get it running. He did not even attempt to clean the bike during re-assembly, and describes it as in 'barn find' condition and highly original, having been off the road in dry storage for some 40 years. We are advised that the only component missing is the headlamp, which was replaced with a Lucas unit to get the bike MoT'd in 1979. This motorcycle will require careful re-commissioning/assembling before returning to the road and thus is sold strictly as viewed. 1906 Peugeot Frères 5hpRegistration no. JAS 793Frame no. 11559Engine no. 16943•Pioneer motorcycle from one of the European industry's founding manufacturers•Formerly part of the Ernst Wouters collection in Belgium•An older restorationOne of the pioneering firms of the French motorcycle industry, Peugeot followed the familiar progression, first adding proprietary clip-on engines to its bicycles before building complete machines of its own manufacture. The first Peugeot was manufactured in 1882; at this time the firm was known as Peugeot Frères, but as more family members joined, changed its name to Les Fils de Peugeot Frères. Dating from its manufacturer's 'Peugeot Frères' period, this 5hp Peugeot v-twin once formed part of the collection of Ernest Wouters. Wouters' was one of the finest collections of early motorcycles and bicycles in original, untouched condition and was housed in the Bicycle and Motorcycle Museum, 'La Petite Reine', situated at Falmignoul in the Belgian Ardennes. The collection comprised some 60 early motorcycles, including tricycles and forecars, and 300-or-so bicycles. Due to its founder's illness, the museum was liquidated circa 1985 and all exhibits sold to other collectors, including this Peugeot's previous owner, noted collector Brian Moore, who purchased the machine directly from the museum and restored it, sparing no effort to make this one of their finest restorations ever. The machine has the optional Truffault front fork and Bosch magneto, while another useful 'extra' is the NSU-patent two-speed epicyclic gear with crankshaft-mounted clutch, top gear being direct drive. The handlebars carry Bowden-type levers (that operate the two Garrier-type rear-wheel brakes) a beautiful twisted bulb horn and leather case for spare inner tube. Lighting is by Riemann self-contained acetylene headlamp, while the leather Brooks-type saddle bears the 'Peugeot Frères' logo. The machine was ridden in several rallies, including the Dutch Horsepower Run and other pre-1915 events on the Continent. The immediately preceding owner, a Peter Sanders of Putney, London, purchased the Peugeot at Bonhams' Olympia sale in December 2002 (Lot 233). Now offered from the collection of noted collector, the late Ken Senior, the machine has not been used for some time and would respond well to detailing and recommissioning or restoration to a greater or lesser extent. Accompanying documentation includes an expired MoT (2004); an old-style V5 registration document; starting/operating instructions; and a quantity of marque-related literature. A truly beautiful specimen of an early Pioneer motorcycle from one of the European industry's founding manufacturers. R6/107143Despite the company's mounting financial difficulties, AJS introduced a comprehensively redesigned range for 1930, all models for this year being coded 'R'. This new line-up was notable for including models with fashionable 'sloper' engines for the first time, while all the overhead-valve types featured twin-port cylinder heads. The previous year's coloured tank panels having proved unpopular, the range reverted to its traditional black-and-gold livery for 1930. Advertised for sale in Old Bike Mart, this AJS R6 twin-port was purchased from Cotswold Classics in June 2004 (sales receipt and advertisement on file). Notable features include a Deluxe bulb horn and a Powell & Hanmer acetylene headlamp. A spare P&H headlamp and 'King of the Road' horn (lacking bulb) are included in the sale. Carrying a tax disc that expired on 31st May 2013, and not used for some time, the machine will require re-commissioning or possibly more extensive restoration before returning to the road, and thus is sold strictly as viewed. It should be noted that the frame number is believed to be a non-factory re-stamp; accordingly, prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves regarding this motorcycle's originality, completeness, and mechanical condition prior to bidding. 1954 BSA 500cc 'B33' SpecialRegistration no. not registeredFrame no. CB31-392Engine no. X B34 280This BSA B33 Special is a mixture of parts from various models. Taken from a 500cc competition model, the crankcases date from 1947 and would have been topped by an iron cylinder head and barrel originally. (The additional number 'GS 53172' on the timing side is someone's addition and should be ignored.) The frame dates from 1954 and would have started life in either a B31 or B33. The engine's alloy top end is circa 1953-1955, as used on either the BB34 Gold Star or the B34 Competition Model (assuming it is 500cc). The headlamp nacelle is B31/33 circa 1954-1957 and the front wheel is B31/33 circa 1956-1957. Mudguards are after-market ones of no particular type, while the fuel tank is a swinging-arm Gold Star type. The carburettor is a post-1966 Amal Concentric.Little is known of this machine's history before it was rescued from a hedge by the vendor's husband. The chassis was restored by his friends in 2019-2020 but the engine and transmission were not (the engine has good compression). 1968 Morris Mini Cooper S Mk. II Transmission: manualMileage:31026The motoring correspondent of The Times reported in May 1963 the Mini while a popular second car in many households was no longer strictly the fashion, the Grande Luxe Mini de Ville by Radford had taken over. On test in London, he reported, it attracted more attention than a Ferrari Berlinetta with its special colour scheme and trim, sliding sunroof, radiator grille with two more recessed lights, special sound insulation and electric windows. The car tested by The Times also had white leather upholstery and deep lambswool carpets, tachometer, ammeter, oil gauge, clock, headlamp flasher and water temperature gauge. Further extras were: a laminated wood steering wheel, automatic red caution lights on open doors, a reading light, cigar lighter, twin-speaker radio and an air blower to demist the rear window. After the 1967 Earls Court Motor Show The Times recorded that Captains of Industry ordered them, painted them to match their Rolls-Royces and gave them to their wives. Pop Stars and West End playboys presumably invested in them as a status symbols. The reporter tested 'a typical Mini de Ville', a 1275 Mini-Cooper S with an engine performance pack providing up to about 110 m.p.h. Outwardly the only distinction was the magnesium alloy wheels, sunroof and non-standard paint. Inside absolutely everything seemed like a refugee from a Rolls-Royce.This exceptional 1968 Morris Mini Cooper S Mk. II has all the hallmarks of being a superb example built by Radford, but no records to prove this can be found. Purchased by a private collector in 2016 where it remained until now only covering 70 miles in this time, but still being fully maintained. The previous owner purchased the car around 2012 from a long-term owner who lived in Derby. Between his purchase and the car being sold in 2016 he sent it to marque specialists Paul Preston Classic Mini Restoration for repainting and restoring as necessary. Stripping the car down and removing the original paint, it was found that the body was sound and rust free, the coachbuilders work was to the highest 'Rolls-Royce' standards where the Mk. II body shell had been de-seemed and lead filled including the smoothed front panel. The car was repainted to the highest of standards in the original colour of maroon. Refitted the excellent bespoke cream and piped red, Connolly leather interior, the burr walnut dashboard with a full compliment of Smith gauges and felt roof lining, A and C pillar panels and Mota Lita wood rimmed steering wheel. Other Radford features include a Webasto folding sunroof and grill recessed Lucas spotlights. During this time the engine and gearbox were overhauled. This lovely Cooper S is supplied with a V5 registration document, the heritage certificate confirming that it is a matching numbers car and file with history.
Penny Farthing bicycle, a rare and fully rideable Penny-Farthing (ordinary bicycle), circa 1880s, restored in the late 1960s and museum displayed in the early 1970s. The front wheel measures approx 58" in diameter and the rear wheel approx 20" in diameter, both wheels with v-section rims. The height from the ground to the handle bars is approx 64", the overall length of the bicycle is 73" long; twist grip handlebars 28" wide to tighten the wire cable operating the brake on the rear wheel; coil springs integral to the saddle, sprung blade mount; the Penny Farthing is finished in black enamel with red coach lining and decals, fitted trouser guard and frock coat guard to front forks, candle-powered headlamp to front and one headstock. Wonderful piece of social history.

It continued in production with upgrades until 1947. The four cylinder side valve engine produced 21 BHP, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed gearbox. The four wheel brakes were cable and rod operated by pedal or hand lever. In 1935, the car enjoyed a facelift, with a change to the radiator, synchromesh was added to second gear, and foot operated headlamp dips were fitted, engine controls were simplified by the adoption of automatic ignition and the provision of a choke.

The Carlsson models were produced with a paint-matched airflow body kit plus a spoiler, and specially-tuned turbocharged engine which, in 2.3-litre form, generated 217bhp. This is a manual transmission version registered in February 1991 and shows 129,286 miles on its odometer. The MoT is valid until July 2023. At 128,712 miles, the car had front and rear brake pads, discs and calipers, four new tyres, headlamp reflectors and front struts. The vendor notes that the windscreen is cracked, however. The history folder includes the V5C, old MoTs from January 2006 (at 94,180 miles), a hefty stack of invoices and the original book pack. This contains the quick reference guide, three owner's handbooks, and a service book with 17 stamps up to 105,398 miles in January 2010. 1972 Aston Martin Vantage Transmission: manualMileage:67857All 70 of these fantastic cars were 'Vantage-engined' to the highest state of tune for this engine - 'SVC'. They represent a special place in Aston Martin history as they were the last six-cylinder cars with a heritage stemming from the greatest era of the firm's racing history and the last to be fitted with wire wheels. They also marked a return to the traditionally-shaped front that was first introduced in the DB3S in the early fifties, continued throughout the 'DB' series of 4, 5, and 6, and was later adopted for all Aston Martins from the current decade - the DB9, the Vanquish, the V8 Vantage, and the current DBS. The model benefitted from all the many improvements developed and implemented throughout the five years of DBS production, including many mechanical and cosmetic changes. Of most significance and like the last fifty examples of the DBS, the car used the same later 'dog leg' ZF five speed gearbox as used in the DBSV8. It is notable that though the V8-engined model with the same body style was introduced in 1970, demand for the six-cylinder AM Vantage continued through 1973 until the factory no longer offered the alternative. Though the V8-engined cars are very fine in their own right, this affection and appreciation for the six-cylinder cars has had a direct bearing on demand, and they now command a premium in the market up to fifty per cent higher than their V8 counterpart.After Sir David Brown's departure in 1972, DBS production continued under new owners, Company Developments. The car was restyled with a two-headlamp front end but mechanically remained much as before, while for a brief period the six-cylinder engine continued to be offered alongside the new V8. The six-cylinder DBS was renamed 'Vantage', a term used to denote the high-performance engine option. All but two Vantages ('6067' and '6068') had the 'SVC' Vantage high-performance engine. Only 70 of these six-cylinder Vantages were produced between May 1972 and July 1973, making the model one of the rarer of post-war Aston Martins.Presented in the original colour of Ascot Grey and upholstered in the original dark blue that came with the car in 1972, this Vantage was originally registered on the 23rd November and sold to Dovey Motors Company Ltd in Cardiff. This car has been owned by the Forshaw Family since the 1980s having purchased it from the first owner. It had a bare metal respray in 1999 and has covered less than 300 miles in the past 10 years, forming part of the family's treasured collection. In 2012 a new high torque starter motor was fitted, alongside a head gasket and HT leads, then the front suspension was refurbished in 2013 with two new front hubs fitted also at the same time. A full history file, whilst in the Forshaw ownership, can be viewed, including original Aston Martin buff warranty booklet and a copy of the original build sheet. It is mechanically sound and described as running very nicely with no known issues. The interior is original and in good condition and the paintwork is also in good condition. Boasting a working 8 Track play with some available with the car and it comes with a new MoT test certificate valid until June 2023. This is a truly wonderful, original piece of Aston Martin history, in the same ownership for over 40 years.
1983 Bamby, 49cc, Project. Registration number A833 NKH. Chassis number 0030. Engine number was 2T41800719. Bamby Cars was a British-built marque of microcars produced in small numbers in Hull, England, in the early 1980s. Bambys were designed and built by Alan Evans, who manufactured a one-off replica of the Peel P50 which also served as a prototype for further production. The Bamby featured a fibreglass body with left side gull-wing door with three-wheels and a single wheel in the rear. Initial models were equipped with hand-started Minarelli 49 cc engines, cable brakes and single headlamps. Improvements introduced included replacing the original engines with the type fitted by Yamaha to their Passola moped, using the main frame components as a subframe for attaching to the body of the car. Brakes were converted to hydraulic discs, but the single headlamp was retained until a further face-lift, from which time two headlights were fitted. At this time the gull-wing entry was deleted and a front-hinged door installed instead. Also introduced was a Suzuki engine, attached via a full chassis, in place of the previously used subframe. Like the Peel P50, there was no reverse gear. The new model was exhibited at the Ideal Home Exhibition of 1984, meeting with overall public approval, but few were made and the final Bamby left the factory within a few months A833 was first registered in November 1983 by Bamby Cars and is one of the first built with gull wing door and cyclops headlight and appears in early promotional advertising. It was bought by our vendors aunt, a local nurse but she did not get on with it. Our vendor bought it in 2002 to add to his collection. Stripped of its running gear at some point it still retains its steering column and front suspension. Sold with the V5, period photograph of it on the assembly line, recovery photographs and a various copy literature including a copy of The Bamby Story by Bob Cotton whose son used one for several years.
