A FRENCH WROUGHT IRON AND GILT METAL FLOOR LAMP IN THE MANNER OF MAISON BAGUES OR MAISON JANSEN, 20TH CENTURY With a bronze colour fabric and gilt lined shade140cm high to leaf tops, 49cm wide, 185cm high to the top of the lampshadeProvenance:From the London property of a former Australian Prime MinisterCondition Report: The shade with water damages- main frame dirty and with wear from handling resulting in loss to gilded surface and tips of stem with some bending and irregularities. Base with rubbing and considerable loss to decoration, there is a bulge where stem meets base- this looks like it may be either evidence of later repair or slightly clumsy manufacture. I suspect the former. The dirt and wear of age accreted around it makes this difficult to be sure. There is evidence (vacant holes) that there may originally have been additional mounts to the stem- now absentELECTRICAL GOODS. These are sold as decorative items only and if bought for use must be checked over for compliance with safety regulations by a qualified electrician before use. Please see numerous additional images for visual references to condition which forms part of this condition report. All lots are available for inspection and Condition Reports are available on request.
