Donald W. "Don" Burns (American, 1919-1989), Marsh Buggy, watercolour, signed lower right "Don Burns", 58 x 53cm. Provenance: Gift of ESSO Standard Oil Company. Notes: Primarily known for watercolor and oil paintings of industrial and farm scenes, Burns was notably selected by the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey to illustrate the oil industry’s part in WWII with a one year award. The company, later known as Esso Oil and now known as Exxon-Mobil, owns a number of commissioned pieces by the artist.

A BOXED GERMAN TINPLATE CLOCKWORK BY-PASS TRAFFIC SET, German made but with no makers marks, c.1930's, set comprises straight and curved sections of track, raised bridge section with Esso advertising making an oval of track, tinplate clockwork car and lorry, two keys, a quantity of track joining clips and illustrated slip of paper showing set up, in a damaged cardboard box that has illustrated lid and inner card divisions (not tested), with a boxed Tri-ang 12 inch Racing Yacht (412), boxed Tri-ang R.A.F. Air Sea Rescue Tender, No.4175, both are damaged and missing items, boxes damaged and a boxed 'Tit-Bits Teaser' puzzle, No.5 in a series given away with 'Tit-Bits' magazine during 1931, manufactured by George Newes Ltd, puzzle is complete, but damaged (4)
