The black short shell jacket with gilt braided borders and seeded buttons, with scarlet lining and label for J.B. Johnstone Dublin and London, and in ink below 'A R Kirkpatrick Esq R.A.' With corded epaulettes with a single star for the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, with Queen's Crown Royal Artillery buttons. With breeches with broad scarlet stripe and buttons marked 'Mc Bride & Sons St James's S.W.'. With fringed sash and black leather belt and pouch bag with wavy bullion borders and finely worked gilt buckle and fittings, the end of the belt with VR within a cartouche beneath a crown, with flechette darts on an oval backing with rose, thistle and clover decoration. The pouch bag with conforming VR monogram within a cartouche beneath a crown. Alexander Richard Kirkpatrick J.P. of Donacomper near Celbridge in Co. Kildare (1813-1891). Born on the 6th August 1813 the oldest son of William of Donacomper Kirkpatrick and Mary Carr. He studied at Trinity Hall where he was both very wealthy, the family estates amounting to some 3,700 acres, and hunting mad, no doubt to the detriment of his studies. He married Catherine Louisa Trench in August 1854. A Barrister at Law from 1840 he is listed in the Ireland Directory at 18 Mountjoy square south, Dublin, Later being recorded as a JP and Magistrate. He is buried amongst members of his family at Donacomper Cemetery, County Kildare. The family sold Donacomper, an early 19th century Tudor-revival house, in 1965 following the death of Sir Ivone Kilpatrick a distinguished Diplomat, to the American Bredin family who retained much of the contents, the uniform may well have left the property at a sale of the residue at this time. See Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland 1958. Provenance: ex collection of Daniel H.F. Gillman of Dun Laoire and Bray Co. Wicklow. (1909-2005). Gillman and his brother Sylvester were regular attendees at Coutny House auctions. Being Irish Georgian Society members, they were noted for their knowledge and collections of such items being credited in a number of relevant books including the 2nd edition of Mark Bence-Jones 'Guide to Irish Country Houses of 1988. *CR Jacket with signs of alteration or repair at cuffs, right elbow and possibly collar, signs of wear and a couple of small holes. Breeches with signs of wear. Sash and shoulder belt and patch with some signs of age and use. Generally a very fine uniform with magnificent shoulder belt and pouch.

GLADIATOR (2000) - General Maximus Decimus Meridius' (Russell Crowe) Unfinished ArmourGeneral Maximus Decimus Meridius' (Russell Crowe) unfinished armour from Ridley Scott's Gladiator. Maximus wore his armoured cuirass when he surveyed his troops and met with the Emperor following the battle of Germania.This version of the armour was made for production but is unfinished and was ultimately not seen in the film. The chest plate is made of fibreglass painted to appear bronze, and is embellished with a silver-colour wolf's head, two Gryphons, and swirling feather laurels. A pair of leather straps are attached to each side, and there are deliberate holes where the epaulettes were attached. The armour has been intentionally distressed with slashes to make it appear battle-worn. The lot comes on a custom-built stand. It exhibits some white discolouration on the side and interior. JAMES BOND: MOONRAKER (1979) - Peter Nelson Collection: Technician Jumpsuit and Belt BuckleA technician jumpsuit and belt buckle from Lewis Gilbert's Bond movie Moonraker. Technicians wore their jumpsuits while working for Hugo Drax (Michael Lonsdale) on his space station. The yellow cotton jumpsuit has zips running down the torso and forearms, with a faded silver collar and piping on the pockets. Each shoulder is decorated with quilted-style epaulettes, with matching piping. The circular black acrylic belt buckle is decorated with metal detailing forming the Drax Industries logo. CARRY ON JACK (1964) - Patch's (Peter Gilmore) Screen-matched JacketPatch's (Peter Gilmore) screen-matched jacket from Gerald Thomas' comedy Carry On Jack. Patch, the pirate captain also known as Roger, wore his jacket as he attempted to commandeer the HMS Venus. Unique stitch detailing and a repair to the right lapel match the jacket to the one seen on screen.The custom-made jacket remains unsized and is made of blue and red wool with a cropped front and long tails. Gold-coloured decorative embroidery embellishes the collar, lapels and cuffs. Likely repurposed for later productions, the jacket features gold-tone metal buttons on the front lapels, and shoulder epaulettes that differ from the ones seen on screen. Engineer in Chief, Army Headquarters 31st March 56 - 1st April 56', the album contains 52 photographs with annotations; Brigadier dress epaulettes; Major General epaulettes for field wear; divisional patches; staff officer collar tabs; two sets of miniatures medals, both swing mounted as worn; Madras Sappers and Miners in white metal, possibly Indian silver; newspaper clippings covering family history; several loose photographs of the recipient; an Officers Record of Service Army book; together with four Royal Engineers wall shields. Richard Edwin (Bunny) Aserappa was born on 27th December 1910 in Calcutta. He was of Ceylonese extraction; his father, Richard Humberto Aserappa, had qualified as an Engineer in England and subsequently joined the Indian Railway service. Bunny was educated at St Paul's, Woolwich, Peterhouse and read Engineering at Cambridge. He was commissioned in the Royal Engineers in 1935 and was quickly back in India serving with the Madras Sappers and Miners. He saw active service on the Northwest Frontier between 1936 and 1937 and was awarded an Indian general Service Medal. He was Mentioned in Despatches for this campaign and promoted to Captain. Promoted to Major in February 1940, During the Second World War, he first served in "Paiforce" ( Persia and Iraq Command), receiving his second Mention in Despatches for his service there. 'The King has graciously pleased to approve that the following be Mentioned in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Iraq, Syria and Persia during the period April 1941, to February 1942.' He returned to India for the Staff College Course at Quetta, Where he passed out first and was then posted to Italy. Aserappa, taught himself fluent Italian in 20 days; unfortunately, he then found out this posting was a mistake, and he should have been posted to Burma. In Burma, he distinguished himself at Myitkynia; by the end of the war, he had risen to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. At the time of partition, he was in Peshawar and was instrumental in saving many lives in the conflict between rival religious groups. Although not a mountaineer himself, he did the preliminary reece for the Everest expedition in 1953. From October 1955 until April 1960, he was the first Indian to serve as Engineer in Chief of the Indian Army with the rank of Major General. He took the position after Lord Mountbatten persuaded him to stay in India. After retiring from the Army, he moved to England with his family. He worked as an Administrator for the RNLI and passed away in Eastbourne in 1988.

A WW2 era 1945 dated ‘Denison’ airborne paratrooper’s smock. Made from heavy duty, windproof camouflage fabric. Of pullover form, with working zip from the collar to chest area. 4 pockets to the front, each with press stud closures. Button down epaulettes to the shoulders, plus button fittings to the cuffs. Adjustable flap to the back ‘skirt’ area, which would have used to loop under the gusset area and fix to the front skirt. Original fabric label fixed to the inside, noting that the smock is size 3, 1945 dated, and made by John Gordon & Co. There is also a ink stamp that reads: ‘Z WD 19’ with a broad arrow mark. The letter code Z would also indicate a 1945 production date. Condition: generally very good, with some service wear. Some soiling / collar grease to the collar area, plus a few tiny nibble to the fabric on the edge of the collar. Small nibble to the fabric of the right breast pocket. Small hole to the front skirt area near the bottom of the left hand pocket. All buttons / press stud fittings appear to be present. The internal cloth label is intact, but the stitching has come away to one side. On the whole, a good clean example of its type.

Welsh Guards Officer's scarlet tunic. A good and scarce George V / George VI period example of scarlet melton cloth with gold bullion embroidered decoration to the cuffs and edging to the epaulettes. The latter with Lieutenant rank Garter Stars. The collar is with gold bullion lace and overlaid with silver bullion regimental leeks. Complete with King Crown gilt metal regimental buttons arranged in two groups of five. The interior with quilted lining. Scarlet a little dulled, but remains in good condition
