A crocodile skin suitcase with silver gilt fittings by Mappin & Webb, London 1927, with twelve linear cut glass jars, four bottles and other fittings, including a spirit flask, a folding corkscrew and a nail buffer, a part manicure set in a crocodile wallet and two crocodile boxes, the case cover now with a blank reserve, gilt stamped for Mappin & Webb as retailer, 55cm (21 3/4 in) wide
A remarkable toilet case, the 19th century French mahogany box with plain brass binding and inset brass handles, the lock throws four bolts, the interior, red velvet and gilt tooled leather is fitted with four English, silver mounted bottles by Thomas Dicks, London 1831, it is further fitted with French, silver mounted pieces including four cutthroat razors, the blades by F. Dewsnap, 134 Oxford Street, a silver mounted strop with case and other bottles, most engraved with the Arms of Hitchins. In polished steel, a pair of boot pulls, a corkscrew and other accessories. A good early 20th Century sheath knife, heavy clip-backed blade 8 1/2 in. and marked ‘Watson London’, oval cross piece with short lugs front and back, steel hilt frame incorporating fold out corkscrew and button hook, a pair of scissors in a compartment to the butt (a further compartment lacking contents), chequered composition grips, brown leather scabbard with steel retaining clip.
