A 19th century clarinet, by Jacques Albert, Brussels, sold by W D Cubitt, London, stamped, plated keys, 65.5cm long; another, similar (2)Provenance: Played in the military in the late 19th century and offered ensuite with a photograph of a soldier holding one of them. He appears to be wearing a South Africa medal, suggesting that these instruments may well have been played during the Transvaal campaign.
