A late 19th century musical box playing on eight airs and six bells: the rosewood banded lid with central marquetry decoration of a an urn, fruiting vine and a clarinet-style instrument, opening to reveal paper tune selection including 'The Last Rose of Summer', 'Nancy Lee', 'The Horse-Guards Waltz', 'The Pirates of Penzance No.5', 'Auld Lang Syne' etc.(although uncleaned for many years and exhibiting rust/oxidisation to the movement it appears to be in good working order with the one-piece comb having all original teeth) (21cm cylinder), with cranking handle and stop/start and change/repeat selectors, on short shaped feet, the right-hand side front of the box exhibiting historic woodworm damage and also some woodworm to other parts of the wooden case (50cm wide x 30cm deep x 22cm high)Condition Report: The musical appears in good working order including the bells although no guarantees can be given.
