American sterling silver teaspoon, the handle embossed with the State House building, the stem reading 'Indianapolis', the bowl embossed with 'Soldiers and Sailors Monument' with image, verso the handle embossed with landscape scene of man chasing a cow with an axe, the bowl engraved 'Esther'. Esther Cleveland (1893-1980) was the second child of President Stephen Grover Cleveland (1837-1908) Frances Folsom Cleveland (1864-1947). Provenance; Collection of US President Grover Cleveland (1837-1908) (in office 1885-9 and 1893-7) and his descendants. He was the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms of office. Including some of his wife's jewellery (Frances Folsom), and silver. Acquired from two of the President's grand-daughters, Marion Frances (Daniel) nee Bosanquet, (1919-2016) and her sister Philippa Ruth (Foot) nee Bosanquet, by bequest and gift. Their mother Esther was the only child born at The White House to a serving American President.

An unusual and rare original c1889 antique pick-axe head, by repute used in the construction of the Eiffel Tower, in Paris, France.. The pick-axe being re-shafted, with the head painted gold. Bearing a fluer de lis to shaft and a plaque reading ' This Pick-Head Used In Construction Of The Eiffel Tower , Paris , France 1889 '. Measures; 92cm tall.
