A collection of jewellery to include cufflinks, brooches, badges, necklets, earrings, two wrist watches, various hat and stick pins, a hair comb, together with a collection of pens, a vesta case, trinket boxes, a faux tortoiseshell cigarette holder containing cheroot holders, an oval ambrotype (A/F broken in half).
Union Case Collection – Lot 415 to Lot 439. The vendor became interested in acquiring photographic items after being left his grandfather’s plate camera in the late 1970s. During the 1980s he bought his first Union cases and his research in to these cases began. He found that there was a maker of Union cases in the U.K - John Smith of Birmingham; before this it was thought that Union cases were only made in the U.S.A. This new information was included in a book being written about Union cases that was being compiled at the time.
