A George III Lignum Vitae coffee grinder. Height 17 cm, base diameter 10.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The coffee grinder requires significant restoration. The base is in generally reasonable order but has numerous small dings, losses and marks to the proud areas of the turning, particularly around the base. There are also slight timber fractures across the base. The main problems are however with the upper section. The circumference to the top is damaged and in three pieces. There are no significant losses however the pieces would need reattaching and rebonding to the top surface. The grinding mechanism does turn and appears to be complete. One of the retaining screws is however missing and the aperture through which the screw would sit is also not present. All metalwork is rusty. The very top lip to the hopper has losses. The finial that would fit to the top of the handle is broken in two and has some losses also.
