PORSCHE FERRY: (1909-1998) Ferdinand Anton Porsche. German-Austrian automobile Designer. Son of Ferdinand Porsch, founder of Volkswagen and Porsche. A good 5 x 7 signed photograph by Ferry Porsche, the image depicting him seated in a half-length smiling pose. Signed in bold blue ink with his name alone to the lower left corner of the image. VGFerry Porsche's life was intimately connected with that of his father, Ferdinand Porsche Sr., who began sharing his knowledge of mechanical engineering already in his childhood. With his father he opened a bureau of automobile design in Stuttgart in 1931. The Volkswagen Beetle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche Sr. and a team of engineers, including Ferry Porsche. After World War II, and while his father remained imprisoned in France being accused of war crimes, Ferry Porsche ran their company. Aided by the postwar Volkswagen enterprise, he created the first cars that were uniquely associated with the company. Despite the political-economical adversities of the postwar years, the company manufactured automobiles and, eventually, became a major sports car manufacturer.

2010 Volkswagen Golf SE TSi S-A Transmission: automaticMileage:11000This vehicle was debuted at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and was designed by Volkswagen's chief designer Walter de'Silva. The design is said to be more aerodynamic, helping fuel efficiency, and is quieter than its predecessor. Following criticism of the downgraded interior trim quality of the Mk. V Golf in comparison to the Mk4, Volkswagen opted to overhaul the interior to match the quality of the Mk. IV Golf, while maintaining the same user friendliness from the Mk. V. It is available with both five- and six-speed manual transmission, and six- or seven-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG)(with Dual Clutch) transmission options. In 2010, Volkswagen brought back the Golf nameplate with the mid-cycle refresh. This superb very low mileage example, only a mere 11,000km (6835 miles) from new, was imported from Japan and is presented in red with grey cloth interior. It comes with air conditioning, electric front and rear windows, automatic lights and wipers, electric folding mirrors and also has nine service stamps in the history file which also contains its mileage guarantee certificate and its ULEZ compliant. Its lively four-cylinder 1.4 litre engine is mated to the desirable DSG automatic gearbox. Consigned, by James Good

Lot 256

2013 Audi Q3 Quattro SE (2.0 litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:58000The car uses the Volkswagen Group A (PQ46) platform of the Volkswagen Passat B6, the same as the Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV. The Q3 slots above the Audi Q2 subcompact crossover SUV. Compared to the compact luxury crossover SUV Q5 and mid-size luxury crossover SUV Q7, which are positioned more for family practicality and off-road performance, the Q3 is aimed as more of a lifestyle/sports automobile. Design and development began following board approval in the second half of 2007. Julian Hoenig's design was chosen for production and frozen in 2009.  The Q3 shares components, transmissions and engines with amongst other vehicles utilising the PQ35 platform, the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and Å koda Yeti. This lovely example imported from Japan is presented in black with grey cloth interior. It comes with electric windows to front and rear, privacy glass, air conditioning with climate control, stop/start, keyless ignition and this particular car comes with the more powerful 210bhp engine mated to an automatic transmission. It comes with 10 service stamps up until 2022 and has a mileage guarantee certificate. These are great small SUV vehicles which are extremely popular and this example looks superb in its black colour scheme and its ULEZ compliant. Consigned, by James Good

Lot 165

1987 Bentley Continental Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:45923The acquisition of Bentley Motors in 1998 by Volkswagen AG brought an end to an era of almost eight decades of cars built by Bentley. Mulliner Park Ward, the coachbuilding division of Rolls-Royce that built this model of the Continental, was also sold to Volkswagen AG and is now simply a personal commissioning department for the Bentley brand.  The Continental Bentleys of this era are therefore not only examples of the last coachbuilt Bentley but also the last from Mulliner Park Ward. Only seventy seven examples were built comprising both the drophead convertible, such as this car, and its fixedhead coupé counterpart.Supplied new in July 1987 by main dealer Jack Barclay, this example is presented in Royal Blue coachwork over a dark blue piped, magnolia interior with a dark blue hood. Offered in excellent condition throughout the Bentley looks superb, the paintwork is in very good order and the interior is presented very well indeed, befitting of a car that shows a mere 45,923 miles on the odometer.Accompanying the Bentley is a sizeable history file including its full book pack. The service booklet shows that the Bentley was serviced annually by Jack Barclay for the first six years of its life at which point independent specialists took over. More recently the Continental has been serviced and maintained by The Chelsea Workshop with services every October from 2016 to 2021. Also included in the history file are MoT test certificates going back to its very first in 1990, with its most recent MoT valid until February 2025. Reported to run and drive very well indeed the Bentley runs and drives as it should and looks fantastic, ready to be enjoyed in the coming summer months this low mileage example offers superb value for money. Lot 189

1973 Volkswagen Manx Beach Buggy Evocation Transmission: manualMileage:1923Bruce Meyers is quoted as saying, €œI'm an artist and I wanted to bring a sense of movement and gesture to the Manx. Dune buggies have a message, fun. They're playful to drive and should look like it. Nothing did at the time.€ Sure enough, using a basic Volkswagen chassis and engine, this radical design concept proved an instant hit both in the US and then, later, in Europe. This wonderful example of a Manx Evocation looks superb in striking orange coachwork over a recently re-trimmed black interior, it is a (useful) four-seater with comfortable bucket seats to the front. Running and driving very well with a recent MoT test certificate, this Manx evocation looks outstanding and sits proudly on a set of replica polished Porsche Fuchs wheels.Fitted with a 1300cc engine bored out 1650cc offering spirited driving between the dunes and a good turn of power. This buggy has been serviced recently and is offered with a number of old MoT test certificates and a current V5C registration document. These are generating much interest at the moment so get ahead of the crowd.Guide Price £11,000 - £16,000

Lot 110

2013 Volkswagen Move Up Auto Transmission: automaticMileage:12020The 2013 Volkswagen Move Up is a compact car that belongs to Volkswagen's Up! series, which is designed to be fuel-efficient and affordable. The Move Up trim level typically offers a good balance of features and value. Overall, the 2013 Volkswagen Move Up Auto would likely appeal to drivers looking for a small, efficient car with modern features and the convenience of an automatic transmission. This superb five door runabout, imported from Japan, is presented in silver with grey cloth interior. It comes with air conditioning, mileage guarantee certificate, electric windows to the front windows, radio and has automatic transmission. This great, refined, economic small car has only covered just over 7,000 miles from new (12,020 km on the odometer reading). These cars are superbly built, easy to drive with great driving dynamics, let alone their superb 50 mpg plus capability and also it is ULEZ compliant. Consigned by James Good.

Lot 216

2000 Rolls-Royce Corniche V Transmission: automaticMileage:4473By the 1960s, Rolls-Royce had finally accepted that many owners might actually prefer to drive their own cars, launching the Silver Shadow with owner-driver comfort in mind, and no doubt appreciated by those chauffeurs still in service. The two-door convertible version of the Silver Shadow soon followed and has been without argument the most successful convertible ever produced by Rolls-Royce. First introduced in 1966 as the 'Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward Two-door Drophead Coupé', it eventually became apparent by popular demand that this version deserved to have its own model name so, after a few cosmetic changes in 1971, the Corniche was born. Whilst the Coupé was discontinued in 1980, the Corniche Convertible was produced until 1995, remaining largely unchanged cosmetically, with a production total of 5,678 convertible cars. The purchase of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd. by Volkswagen in 1998 may have raised a few eyebrows but it secured the future of not just Rolls-Royce but also Bentley, a roaring success that surely would have pleased W.O. himself. The licensing and production agreement between Volkswagen and BMW came to an end in 2003, and the two brands went their separate ways with Rolls-Royce production moving to the new BMW-owned factory in Goodwood, launching the V12-powered Phantom later that year whilst Volkswagen spearheaded Bentley's new chapter, one of the most significant relaunches of a brand in living memory. Only one new Rolls-Royce model was produced under Volkswagen holding ownership, the Corniche V, and the last Rolls so named.Launched in 2000 with a list price of £300,000, the most expensive car then offered by Rolls-Royce, the Corniche V has many unique distinctions, not least being the last V8 powered Rolls-Royce, with the 6.75 litre engine enhanced by a turbocharger borrowed from Bentley. Whilst sharing design elements with the Silver Seraph, it was based on the Bentley Azure's platform. The Corniche V remains one of the rarest models produced by Rolls-Royce, and out of 329 cars handbuilt at Crewe, just 38 were produced in right hand drive. Interior refinement and build quality remained as high as ever with lashings of leather and the finest of wooden veneers, and Rolls-Royce still remained the watchword for excellence. A recent sale in 2022 of one such Corniche V reached in excess of 170,000 for low mileage car with over 26,000 miles recorded so low mileage example are clearly desirable. One of the 20 right hand drive cars built in 2000, this fabulous Corniche V was delivered new to the philanthropic scion of the Tang family of Hong Kong on 27th December 2000. The very rare colour combination of Black Garnet, Fireglow Red leather interior and contrasting Wildberry cloth hood adorns the car. Used sparingly and maintained by Rolls-Royce Hong Kong, the car was brought over by our vendor, importing it into the UK, as declared in the NOVA dated 23rd February 2023. An enthusiast of rare Bentleys and Rolls-Royce, our vendor commissioned marque specialists to service the car's power hood and launch a programme of maintenance works before having the car registered in the UK with a V5 registration document to his home in West London.Supplied to auction with 7,200 kilometres, at the time of cataloguing, on the odometer, this car's mileage equates to just 4,473 miles. The history file incudes prior registration documents, handbooks and the most recent UK receipts for the aforementioned works.A simply stunning car that is rarer than all of its contemporaries whilst the gleaming coachwork is purposeful, and the red leather interior cuts a dash. When one considers the low mileage and provenance, we can only conclude that this is a truly collectable example of one of the rarer Rolls-Royce models produced and estimated very reasonably.

Lot 262

1989 Volkswagen Scirocco GT II Transmission: manualMileage:27600A heavily redesigned Type 2 variant (internally designated Type 53B) went on sale in 1981, although it remained on the A1 platform. The second generation Scirocco, still assembled on behalf of Volkswagen by Karmann of Osnabrück (in the same factory as the first generation Scirocco), was first shown at the 1981 Geneva Motor Show in March that year. Designed by Volkswagen's own internal design team, the new car featured increased front and rear headroom, increased luggage space and a reduction in the coefficient of drag. One feature of the Type 2 was the location of the rear spoiler midway up the glass on the rear hatch. A mid-cycle update occurred in 1984, which included minor changes over the 1982 model: removal of the outlined SCIROCCO script from the rear hatch (below the spoiler), a redesigned air conditioning compressor, and a different brake master cylinder with in-line proportioning valves and a brake light switch mounted to the pedal instead of on the master cylinder. This example was registered new on 16th December 1989 and was purchased by its one private owner from new. Offered in silver coachwork over a cloth interior this Scirocco presents very well. The paintwork is generally very good although there are some age related blemishes, and the interior is in very good order. Offered with a history file including the original service booklet and maintenance booklets, many old MoT test certificates, sundry bills, and the original sales invoice. Interested parties should note that the UK registration document that accompanies the car is showing one previous keeper (due to a family member re-registering the car in their name in more recent times). Having been dry stored at the original vendor's home from new and having covered a mere 27,600 miles this really is an opportunity not to be missed.

#111 of the final run of 300 German-manufactured, right-hand drive Beetles, finished in Diamond Silver and in wonderful condition. Offered with No Reserve. The Volkswagen Beetle enjoyed staggering success for many years, and in 1972 became the best-selling car to date, with total production worldwide exceeding 15,000,000 vehicles. However, by that time, the Beetle was starting to seem dated compared with much of the modern competition and sales were flagging. In an attempt to maintain interest, Volkswagen produced numerous special edition models during the final years of European production. These included the Jeans Beetle, City Beetle, Sun Bug and Marathon Beetle, to name just a few. Despite these efforts, the Beetle was now effectively past its 'sell-by-date' with sales continuing to decline and the last European-built car left the production line in Emden, Germany on the 19th January 1978, immediately taking early retirement in the Wolfsburg Auto Museum. In 1978, to mark the occasion, the final run of 300 German-manufactured right-hand drive Beetles were all finished in the very special Diamond Silver (L97A) paint colour; they were also all fitted with a 1,200cc engine (the most famous of all), blue-corded velour trim, a flat windscreen (as a nod to the past), heated rear window, fresh air blower and a handbrake dash-light. Finally, a dashboard-mounted plaque stated the vehicle's number in the sequence. The car presented here, example #111, is known throughout the VW owners club and features on the official LEB register. Reading an unwarranted mileage of just over 10,000, #111 was the subject of a sympathetic restoration between 2011-2013 and is in lovely condition. The Jubilee Silver paintwork is bright, and the interior is immaculate. All brightwork and chrome are 'as new', the glass is original and the engine bay is tidy. The car has formed part of a small private Collection since 2015, being driven only occasionally, MOT’d and maintained well and several invoices detailing expenditure and a 2015 service by respected VW specialist ‘Veedubs’ are present in the accompanying history file. The LEB was produced in smaller numbers than any previous special-edition Beetle and, in our opinion, is a very significant collector's car or would make an ideal first classic for an enthusiast at a most reasonable outlay.Specification Make: VOLKSWAGEN Model: BEETLE LAST EDITION Year: 1978 Chassis Number: 1182007277 Registration Number: YTA 167S Transmission: Manual Engine Number: D1417446 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 10000 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
