An 18th Century turret clock, dated 1785, the plate & spacer wrought iron 'Pagoda' frame enclosing a two train movement complete with two painted dials, 102cm diameter, weights, pendulum, bell and an associated weather vane. The setting dial engraved 'Charles Penton, Upper Moorfields, London, 1785'. The bell, 46cm high, cast 'Basingbourne Hall, Essex 1785'. The frame 93cm high x 81cm wide.

An American gilded copper weather vane in the form of a galloping horse, Waltham, Massachusetts, circa 1870, with an oval metal label to the support stamped Cushing & White, Waltham, Mass, this well documented model was named 'Ethan Allen' after the famous mid 19th century American 'trotting' horse, h.51.5cm. (including stand), l.73cm.
A 2 7/8in. circular-tapered silver-rimmed beaker engraved with a scene showing crows building a nest on the weather vane of The Newcastle Exchange and another scene depicting the Merchant brig Friends Adventure at anchor in Yarmouth Roads 1788; 3 7/8in. high. NB: This beaker was created as a gift to Alexander Rutherford, Master of the Friends Adventure from the members of his local Masonic Lodge, the badge of which is inscribed on the side of the tankard. The building of the crows nest atop the Newcastle Exchange (now the Guild Hall) on Newcastle's Quayside, was a widely reported event of the day: the crows continued to roost in their unlikely and precarious position from 1783 until 1788 the date of the launch of The Friends Adventure. and front cover
