A German porcelain oval footed dish. FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK. Painted with a nymph and attendants, probably depicting the Triumph of Galatea within a gilt oval cartouche, decorated with gilt diaper-pattern and floral garlands, reserved on a lavender-coloured-ground, the handles formed from a continuous interweaving band of gilt husks applied with turquoise ribbon, on six gilt spade feet. 17 in. (43 cm.) wide.
