Late 19th century French carriage clock with eight day movement striking the half and hours, in brass case and original travelling case, 16cm high (key present) CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good. Movement appears to be in working order although escapement is very dirty. Overall movement is quite clean, dial is undamaged, case is reasonably good, gilding is quite badly worn and marked in place. travelling case is very worn and carrying handle has been removed. Glass is missing

A Fine Quality and Interesting mid 19thC Gilt and Gold Dial Strut Clock in the manner of Thomas Cole. The dial is profusely engraved with floral and c scroll decoration in symmetrical form and has blued steel - 8 day movement - lever escapement , Fleur de Lys hands. Black Roman hour numerals. The clock has retailer marks for Trussell (Henry) 16 East Street, Brighton to lower back of clock. But the clock is not numbered the retailers marks would date the clock to the approx mid 19thC, Height of clock 4.25 inches high. Contained in the original leather travelling case.
