Large Silver/Crystal/Leather Toiletry set in leather caseThis large leather carrying cases holds numerous travelling toiletry and manicure utensils as well as a clock (pocket watch in removeable sterling case), shoe horn, flask, and several other items. All sterling silver hallmarked and crystal bottles, monogrammed leather accoutrements. There are a total of 8 crystal and silver bottles including a nice flask, 1 silver shoe horn/shoe hook, 1 silver case with an enclosed removeable pocket watch (working at time of this listing but we do not guarantee the workings of any mechanical instrument), 3 leather monogrammed carrying cases, 1 leather manicure set with 7 instruments, 5 various size celluloid monogrammed brushes, and one silver monogrammed covered cup. All this is a two layered fitted leather carrying case. Interior and all items are in very nice condition with only minor age related wear, The leather carrying case is obviously been used over many years but still retains a nice richness. An 18th/19th Century French Officer's Cased Travelling Alarm Clock:The Dial has the legend "Il est l`heure de faire le bien" and two winding holes and three hands, the case has floral spandrels and bosses to the sides with a laurel and floral decoration to the top and handle, the back door has large pierced cover and opens to reveal three hammers striking on one bell, this rings for Alarm, Hours and Quarters. Comes with fitted case which has tooled gilt detail to the sides and the top. Clock H 20cm x W 13 cm x D 11 cm CONDITION REPORT: Clock in good original condition, minor scratches to the dial and chip around the winding ports, original hands and alarm hand.Gilt case retains original finish, all floral appliques are firmly fixed, striking quarters pull on the left side set with a translucent bead, and the alarm pull coming from beneath the clock with an opaque bead.The right side of the clock has the letters "GP HR II" impressed to it.the pierced back door opens and closes firmly, a slight buckling to the pierced section sitting in the frame.Movement with three hammers striking on a single bell, two for hours and minutes, the bottom hammer for the alarm.in good working order, chiming out of sync with the time.Case is original and in unrestored condition with original lining, hook closures and gilded leather outer.no mould or dusting to the linings in good stable condition.comes with later double ended key.
An early 19c English travelling clock by Thomas Moss of Ludgate St. London. It has a watch type movement with lever escapement and plain balance and a 2.5in diam. brass dial with separate seconds ring and engine turned dial centre. It is contained in a rectangular brass carrying case with fixed carrying handle and floral engraving to the front, sides and top and circular brass feet. Clock 6in tall overall.
