A cased pair of revolving percussion pistols by Gass dating: mid-19th Century provenance: London Smooth, octagonal, over and under, revolving barrels, engraved at the nozzle, provided with foresight, signed "D. GASS 42 & 43 OXFORD ST.T LONDON"; frame and hammers engraved with floral motifs; checkered, wooden butts, the trigger guard decorated en suite, the spring integrated to revolve the barrells, butt-plates with extendable ramrod (!) integrated. In a wooden case lined with green velvet, complete with flask, bullet mould, spanner, ramrod and key. dimensions: length 21.5 cm. Start Price: €1400
A CASED PERCUSSION LONDON ARMOURY REVOLVER. A complete an in excellent condition Adams Patent five shot percussion revolver, number 24959. In the original box with bullets still wrapped in their paper covers, also the bullet mould and wad cutter. An oil bottle, powder flask, pricker and replacement nipples, cleaning rod and nipple spanner etc. Adams leather pouch with original percussion caps, keys for the lock etc. Retaining almost all its original blueing, except where rubbed in the case. Hardly used since its purchase by an Indian Army officer C1858, a civilian model from the London Armoury. On the frame is Adams patent B.9288 and the number 24959 also 24959 R on the cylinder. In a shield on the frame is L A C and a crown above. The rammer is numbered 12582, inline with Kerrs patent incorporated under licence. The Beaumont-Adams Double Action Revolver is in 54 bore (.44 approx) caliber, with a 5.3/4"" barrel and three grove rifling. See Illustration

Contents in mint condition with all packing pieces present. Box tray and inserts also in mint condition. Box lid shows evidence of slight damp incursion. Comes complete with instructions, guarantee, tested tag, oil phial, spanner, unopened packet of headboards and other Meccano literature. Would be as new if not for the slight staining to the box lid.
