Lot 3030

- Part of the late Walter Witney's collection since 1993 - Formerly on display at the Monarch Motor Museum, Dublin - In use last year but engine removed for overhaul Further Info: Walter `Wally' Witney (1934 - 2014) Walter `Wally' Witney had a lifelong affection for Ford vehicles. Growing up with various Model Ts and As in the family, he began his working life as an apprentice mechanic. A keen driver who would think nothing of undertaking a 600-mile round trip to visit a steam rally or pootling down to the local supermarket aboard a Model T, Wally also had a taste for speed which he indulged during the 1960s as `spanner man' to stock car ace Roy Gladwin (No. 324). A keen auction goer who collected stationary engines and sewing machines as well as Fords, Wally was also an inveterate tinkerer. Thus the 1930 Model A Tudor Sedan was part way through an engine overhaul and the 1923 Model T `Speedster' Special had yet to be completed at the time of his death. A quiet, unassuming man who had nevertheless led a rich life, Wally's funeral attracted a diverse range of vintage and classic machinery. Part of Mr Witney's collection since late November 1993 when it was purchased via a RTS auction, this 1930 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan is understood to have previously been on display at the Monarch Motor Museum in Dublin. Driven to numerous rallies and shows over the past twenty odd years, it presents as an older restoration and was being treated to an engine overhaul at the time of Mr Witney's passing. The car appears to be substantially complete but potential purchasers are asked to satisfy themselves as to the extent of any missing components. Being offered for sale strictly as seen, `SV 4903' is nevertheless accompanied by an assortment of engine spares.

Lot 3031

- Entered from the collection of the late Walter Witney - Re-bodied in the style of a Speedster but needs finishing - A great project with much of the hard work done Further Info: Walter `Wally' Witney (1934 - 2014) Walter `Wally' Witney had a lifelong affection for Ford vehicles. 324). A quiet, unassuming man who had nevertheless led a rich life, Wally's funeral attracted a diverse range of vintage and classic machinery. Reportedly part of Mr Witney's collection since 2007, this Special is understood to have begun life as a saloon. Built-up from an assortment of Model T parts and clothed with Speedster-style coachwork, it was still being finished at the time of Mr Witney's passing. To left-hand drive specification, the two-seater sports black vinyl upholstery and wooden wheels. The Ford has the makings of a fun project but is being offered for sale strictly as seen. Thus, potential purchasers should satisfy themselves as to (a) its completeness or otherwise and (b) the extent of further work required.

Lot 3032

- Entered from the collection of the late Walter Witney - First registered 1922 but rumoured to have seen WW1 service - Hollingsworth of Northampton body and a wonderful survivor Further Info: Walter `Wally' Witney (1934 - 2014) Walter `Wally' Witney had a lifelong affection for Ford vehicles. 324). A quiet, unassuming man who had nevertheless led a rich life, Wally's funeral attracted a diverse range of vintage and classic machinery. Reputed to have had just three owners from new, this remarkable Truck was first road registered as `NH 4200' by Northampton County Council on 16th May 1922. Thought to have been bodied by one of the town's coachbuilders, Hollingsworth, it is also rumoured to have seen service during World War One. Acquired by Mr Witney in 2012, he was determined to (a) get the Ford running again, (b) conserve its wonderful patina and (c) solve the mystery of the `letterbox' set into its windscreen. The Truck is apparently lower geared than standard - perhaps all the better to help out with heavy loads on the battlefield - and Mr Witney was trying to source a suitable propshaft and other mechanical components at the time of his death. Worthy of museum display or sympathetic restoration, this characterful Ford is being offered for sale strictly as seen.

Lot 3033

- Entered from the collection of the late Walter Witney - Older restoration, wooden bed / body and black bench seat - LHD, overdrive, in use last year and garaged since then Further Info: Walter `Wally' Witney (1934 - 2014) Walter `Wally' Witney had a lifelong affection for Ford vehicles. A quiet, unassuming man who had nevertheless led a rich life, Wally's funeral attracted a diverse range of vintage and classic machinery. Reportedly part of Mr Witney's collection since 2013, this Truck is to left-hand drive specification. An accompanying handwritten show placard suggests that the Ford has an overdrive of sorts (useful on an otherwise low geared commercial vehicle), while its last tax disc expired on 31st January 2015. The Truck presents as an older restoration albeit that its wooden cab and bed are understood to have been repainted during Mr Witney's custodianship. A charming light commercial, this Model T is offered for sale strictly as viewed.
