"The power of post-revolutionary Soviet graphics, and experiments by artists like Rodenchko in the twenties to find a form of non-status dress for the proletariat, have exerted considerable influence on twentieth century thinking about design, but surprisingly had little effect on fashion until Gaultier`s `Constructivist` Russian collection for Autumn-Winter 1986-7, which captured all the power of the original and was taken up by the designers of motorbike leathers who are still following his guidelines today. Gaultier himself considers this one of his most important and influential collections and it was also memorable for its presentation. Each of the 120 models wore one outfit only and all were on stage at the same time. Gaultier was also one of the models."

Nidd Valley Light Railway whole Edmondson Ticket from Pateley Bridge to Ramsgill. Date stamped on the rear '07 SEP 12' the ticket is indeed numbered 001 so was absolutely the first ticket ever issued for this journey. Discovered loose in an old Stanley Gibbons Album of Arms, Crests & Monograms, it was fortunate the vendor found it for it had, at one time been pasted in the inside cover and somehow became detached. This is known because there is a hand written inscription on the inside cover that reads:- 'This ticket was the first to be paid for on the opening of the N.V. Light Railway Sep 12th 1907'. The railway was operated by Bradford Corporation and was closed on 31st December 1929 to passengers but was still used for another six years for goods. An amazing survivor from this short-lived little railway. The ticket has been re-attached to the first page of the album in a clear sleeve to show where it was kept over the years. The album accompanies of course.

He holds his bearskin to one side and has a black armband over his jacket sleeve. Signed ('George') to a clear area at the base of the image and dated 1901 in his hand. The photographer's mount has been slightly irregularly trimmed, otherwise VG The Duke's grandmother, Queen Victoria, had died on 22nd January 1901, and it is likely that he wore the black armband whilst in mourning.
