Nidd Valley Light Railway whole Edmondson Ticket from Pateley Bridge to Ramsgill. Date stamped on the rear '07 SEP 12' the ticket is indeed numbered 001 so was absolutely the first ticket ever issued for this journey. Discovered loose in an old Stanley Gibbons Album of Arms, Crests & Monograms, it was fortunate the vendor found it for it had, at one time been pasted in the inside cover and somehow became detached. This is known because there is a hand written inscription on the inside cover that reads:- 'This ticket was the first to be paid for on the opening of the N.V. Light Railway Sep 12th 1907'. The railway was operated by Bradford Corporation and was closed on 31st December 1929 to passengers but was still used for another six years for goods. An amazing survivor from this short-lived little railway. The ticket has been re-attached to the first page of the album in a clear sleeve to show where it was kept over the years.
